Do it but squating three times a week is pretty crazy. I did it and was knackered all the time. Gained muscle and my back became huge. One thing I noticed was my chest did not become bigger and hard , for me bench pressing doesn't work for my chest but it work for my shoulders. I find flys work for me .Also I would say follow the diet to as I became bigger but not as defined I wanted to . Decided to take some protein shake and this helped me alot with my energy levels. Been off it for 2 months now as been traveling alot but going to go back to this month with diet , calorie count and microns included and will incorporate chest flys . Will see how it goes for 12 weeks .

Hey guys just wanted to let y’all know that I loved this program and the journey I took along the way has opened new doors for me! When i first started was in September and my squat was at 200, deadlift 225 and my bench was 205 for my 5x5. I kept with this workout for five months and the change was amazing! My new numbers for squat is 335, deadlift 405, and my bench 315!!! Now I am going to get ready for a new workout regime for my first ever powerlifting meet this September and just knew if it wasn’t for y’all I wouldn’t have even come as far as I have! You guys rock and stay buff💪💪

Thanks a ton guys! 🙏I've been trying this programme for 3 weeks. I'm actually a Karate practioner and my Sensei suggested to try this programme to build explosive power for my punches and kicks! I normally go to the gym on my off Dojo days! That's 3 times a week! However as I'm an instructor myself I am busy teaching students whole day. Which means that throughout the day I'm having mini workouts with my students! In all honesty by the time I reach the gym floor it's like 9.30 at night so I am a lil tired at times. But this programme is awsum because it's short in terms of duration. However as I'm sometimes a lil drained at the end of the day I normally don't know what's my threshold is on my 5th rep. I feel that I can do more reps (maybe 3-4 more)at times and there have been occasions where I failed at the 4th repetition. So the 5th rep never happened! 🤣🤣would these experiences be technically wrong?? I already feel that my punching and kicking power have gone up amazingly. Thanks so very much for this. Lots of Respect from Mumbai, India 🇮🇳🙏

Warming up and stretching are completely different. You should warm up, get the blood pumping, get warm. Stretching however just reduces muscles elastic potential and most of the time doesn't even warm you up! Warm up before, stretch after. The exception to this is when a muscle is abnormally stiff and short, in which case it should be stretched pre exercise.

Guys, This is my 7th week with the 5 x 5. I'm 70 years old. I have gotten stronger in all the lifts. I use my own discretion concerning when and how much weight to add. Also, I use the smith machine for squatting and deadlifting is that alright ? I've gained about 5 pounds in 6 weeks, probably because I struggle getting the food and sleep thing right. I see change in my physic and the little muscle mass gain is noticeable. Thanks for turning me on to this.
