I want to thank Buff Dudes, i started watching you guys couple of years ago for entertainment value, then like a year ago i thought, hell i should do something, and i started working out at home a bit, wasn't really noticeable - but hell i was doing something. Then 8 months ago i joined a gym, found a beginner friendly program for me and worked away for 7 months with great progress, i really started to notice my Chest getting firmer, a good looking Triceps (god i loved the sight of it) a good looking biceps and legs, oh god did my legs change (and i still despise leg day :D ), now i am going even harder, i booked a meeting with a personal trainer, created a killer workout routine for myself, 4 times a week and cardio with my bike, and what is most important - i started counting calories and making meals for myself, in the last 10 days i have lost 5.4 pounds of fat. HOT DAMN! i am going for that 6 pack now, and then for the next winter will be my 1st serious Bulk. For what this is worth - Thank you BUFF DUDES! the beginning of my journey is mostly thanks to you two, and one day i want to be a long haired BUFF DUDE like Hudson! :D keep up the good work, and i really hope you get to read this BUFF WALL OF TEXT. :D

Q: I have never train with weights, last year i was 214 lbs 5'10 male (29yo), so i focused on eating right and losing weight, NOW i am 188 lbs. My question is when should i stop losing weight and start training to gain muscle for real? i was thinking 2 options 1- Keep losing weight until i hit 175 then start focusing on weight training for real. 2- Start now? and try to lose weight while gaining muscle? (idk) Thanks everyone i always get good advise from the viewers of this channel
@Mocha-u7p8 жыл бұрын
Definitely start training with weights as soon as possible, it's never too early to start. If you're not happy with the the level of body fat you've gotten to then keep dropping weight whilst training with weights to put on a bit of muscle. Since you're new to weight training this is one of the only times in your training career that you can lose fat and put on muscle at the same time! Make the most of your noob gains.

Old school 5x5. Eat a lot if you want to gain weight, otherwise you may find that you'll be burnt out with all thsoe compound movements. A lot of bodybuilders use those exercises in a 5x5 during their offseason bulks for the size.

+Buff Dudes Hey dudes! I've been following you for long enough to not even remember when I started and I haven't seen you performing low pulley cable flys so I had to ask why? I think it's a great exercise, so many muscles involved, trains the "hard part" of the chest and gives an ultimate Buff Dude feeling when you are at the peak of the movement with bulging shoulders, chest, biceps and traps.. not forgetting the tension on the core. Anyways, would be nice to see how the BUFF DUDES handle it :)

How old are you guys? How are your shoulders holding up doing incline presses to your chest like that with that grip? What injuries or routine challenges do you deal with as a result of lifting over the years? Myself its my right shoulder..I haven't met anyone that has done this for long who doesn't have something that bothers them or limits them at some point
@Handeee8058 жыл бұрын
Dude before it gets bad, rest it for bare minimum 3 weeks, trust me, its better to rest now than destroy your shoulders. When you go back to gym, workout your serratus anterior, rotator cuff, mid and lower traps. Usually its not heavy weight for them. Trust me please as I have suffered repercussions because of lack of care. Also, a big part is to fix your posture, it contributes to your shoulder health
@Handeee8058 жыл бұрын
And don't do upright rows, there are safer alternatives because that can tear your rotator cuff.
@TVResults8 жыл бұрын
Danny Hermosillo I appreciate your concern..the damage is already done on my right shoulder, though I haven't had anything major..its one of those nagging sore spots..it came from years of heavy weights with inadequate warms ups from what I can see in the rear view mirror...these days I rest and warm up much more..health is first and foremost
@TVResults8 жыл бұрын
Danny Hermosillo I pack my shoulders when I press as well and do everything possible on the posture front..I've had guys look at my form, etc..some movements I stay away from as well, its not worth injury risk just because this or that exercise is touted as the holy grail for muscle building

I have a question: Should I increase the weight from set to set (of the 5 sets) starting from a moderate weight up to a heavy one? Or should I find the exact weight that I do 5x5, not altering the weight between the sets?
@ShyBoy6ty98 жыл бұрын
I never understood the purpose of using light weight, then moving up after each set. I've always used the same weight on all sets, and moved up by 5 pounds a week until I missed a rep on a particular workout. Maybe it's a plateau busting tactic.

at what weight do you guys start wearing a belt? if at all? on deadlift
@jordancameron24828 жыл бұрын
I use a belt on my deadlifts because I do them after squats, and am tired. I don't deadlift that much, and I hurt my back a long time ago so I want to play it safe. I've always had the notion that if you feel the weight is going to start to round your back, use a belt, it will help you notice when you're rounding your back, and you can correct your form =)
@Sean-mc4iq8 жыл бұрын
as soon as your form starts to breakdown, it's to help keep your form intact when hitting something you can't necessarily handle yet without that extra help.
