What kind of rep rang should a skinny guy do to really bulk up his legs? I usually alternated between low reps (Max 5) and High reps (12) when doing squats.
@saval9310 жыл бұрын
6-8. But sure you get "nice and deep like". If you can't get deep enough, do stretches. It's much better to get lower with a lower weight that half rep with a high weight.
@buffdudes10 жыл бұрын
MadCowMenton 8 - 12 is considered the hypertrophy rep range, but if you would like to see strength and size quick, we would recommend trying out a good 5x5 program. We have a video on a simple but effective 5x5 program.

Buff Dudes For the last couple of months I have been doing 9-11 sets of sqauts in the 7-15 rep range. I do this only once a week. What is your opinion on this?
@mjss1980NL10 жыл бұрын
Paul D what do you think?? To build your legs propperly you need to mix things up. I do legs 2 times a week and make 2 routines. Squats are in both because its the most important one and do 4 set of 10-12 reps. If i go heavy 8-10 reps. With just squats only you cant develop them the way you like. I have been doing fitness for over 15 years. Just use this guys routine and ad some other excercises and make it a 3 to 4 sets 10-12 reps workout. But if youre not feeding youre body with good nutricions and alot of protein youre just breaking off youre muscles. So eat wel train hard and rest wel. Drink alot of water 2. 2-3 liters a day. Dont feed youre body with crap like junkfood and beer etc. Good luck 👍
@kevinblank14819 жыл бұрын
mjss1980NL well, you really only need squats for big legs :D but if you want big legs fast, you need to mix things up, i agree

Try using the plantar flexion (heels elevated with a 2 - 3 inch block of wood or use a 10 pound plate) when doing squats, this while help put more stress on the quads. Also super set sissy squats between sets. Incorporate heavy legs extensions as well. Hope this helped!

Do the correct math 18 * 45= 810 and he also has 4 plates on top which piles to 1035lb
@ViktorVaughan11 жыл бұрын
Sam sult 18*20kg = 360kg * 2.2 (2.2lbs per Kg) = 792. I did do the maths correctly. So If I included the other 4 plates it would be 968kg. Also a 20kg isn't 45lbs in technically 44 but you Americans can't seem to grasp the Metric System. Hope that helps
@sammysays157011 жыл бұрын
Haha talking shit about Americans while learning from them, what a hypocrite. I just multiplied it by 45lbs keep it simple!

Dudes... DOMS. Do you experience this? I dread leg days because I know I'm going to experience near crippling DOMS for several days afterwards. I type this as I sit in bed, dealing with day two of DOMS which is worse than yesterday, dreading having to get up and get my day started. How do I prevent this? This is seriously not normal.
@gregstepp78139 жыл бұрын
Dude I'm right there with you... still recovering from last weeks leg day, and here we go again today. Not to mention I feel about as strong as my 2 yr old since I neglect my legs.
@TommyBlanton9 жыл бұрын
greg stepp I wouldn't work legs again until the pain goes away. No way you are recovered. Do some cardio instead to get the blood flowing through those muscles. I worked legs yesterday and so far so good today. Keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Tommy Blanton use foamrollers... they help to recover your muscles faster :)

Thanks. I bought one shortly after that post and it definitely helped. Fortunately it seems that the worst is behind me. Now I get the feel good like I worked them soreness instead of the debilitating soreness.
@Jefftheman989 жыл бұрын
Tommy Blanton If you train legs often enough it's not bad at all. Having terrible crippling DOS is a sign you don't train legs ENOUGH not saying you don't at all just saying maybe more training should be done than 1 day a week if that's the case.
