Season five final episodes feels like an action movie. This episode is sooo good with the running away scene and thatfight with the knights. Such a good change of pace

The show is now reaching boiling point. In Spiral, Glory now knows Dawn is The Key. Spike turning up in the RV is funny with the slit in the front window. The scenes with The Knights chasing the RV and the ensuing fight is great. The mistake of getting Ben to come to treat Giles with of course the Scoobies not aware he is also Glory. The General explains to Buffy why it is all happening, and that there is no way to stop Glory unless The Key is destroyed. When Glory takes Dawn we can see Buffy becoming catatonic with stress. The build up to the finale is superb, and it does not disappoint. Great to see you are really appreciating how great the show is.

This is the first time we've seen Buffy kill a human. It happened during the fight with the Knights. It was in self defense, but it was still a human kill.

IMO, it was a production mistake which everyone overlooked. Everything else about the show and about Buffy's character suggests that they would have treated it as a much bigger deal if Buffy willingly killed humans.

@@judson9223 yeah thats an interesting view but IDK how they could not think about this if that's the case. It was written, goes through re-writes and other writers look at it. Then they film it. I mean literally throwing in axe into a person's chest should've been telling enough. I feel like Buffy didn't even have time to process it with everything happening.

I just love the way you can predict things, you saw that Buffy was into much pressure even before she cracks in the end, you don't just watch, you study the information you're getting in such a visionary pov, and that's just awesome 👏🏻

When this episode first aired I recorded it on VHS and I broke my VCR because I kept pausing it and rewinding it on that exact part,, it was glorious

The writers knew pretty early on in the season that there was likely gonna be a season six. The bigger question was if it was going to be on The WB. And they did end up changing networks following seasons.

I agree about how weird it is to see the Scoobies on the run. In that vein, it unintentionally makes this episode out of place in terms of the series so far.

What else could they do though? Glory is a big step up in terms of power than any villain they have faced previously. Buffy and even Willow juiced on powerful dark magic have been no match against her. It’s the only option they really have.

@@TheJayden3977 SPOILER I never said it was wrong for them to run, just that running seems out of place since we don't see it anywhere else in either show or canon comics. The closest we get is Fred being scared to confront her parents due to Pylea issues in _Fredless._ And Buffy in Becoming Part 2_ doesn't run from a villain, but from problems the Scoobies helped create. She needed a much needed breather. She told her mom in note she was going. Not telling the group she was going was a mistake, but it doesn't put it on a running list that would make it in the same vein as this episode.

I think the brotherhood was only invented so they could show some fightscenes during the season and make the final episodes more "thrilling". If they would have fought more often against Glory and escaped/won it would have diminished the threat she posed. With the knights the Scoobies could be portrayed in danger without having to invent new demons every episode that would disrupt the flow of the ongoing fight against Glory. They just didn't develop them good enough in my opinon and you are right, they are the weakest link in the whole season. Having Buffy fight against humans also leads to the point where she (accidentally or not) kills one or more in battle and the season doesn't have time to deal with that as well. So it implies that all the drama around Faith killing a human (which she did not intentionally!) doesn't apply to Buffy (is she superior to Faith?!). Also an army of knights on foot and horses hanging around the area for weeks would definately raise suspicion even in Sunnydale... They should have made them like a knightlike brotherhood of half-demons with the backstory of Glory wiping out nearly their entire race, so they are going for vengance or something like that.

I told ya season 5 was the best of the series. Didn't know if i could mention how heat glory was before you met her, but yeah, she's the best by a mile. And Buffy has the best theme song I've ever heard, but i might be biased since i adore the show. And 22 might be the bext final, i think it's not quite as good as season 7's, but it depends on the viewer. Have s huge amount of fun.

As much as I love season 5, I frikkin' HATE the knights of Byzantium. I mean, come on, swords and horses? Bows and arrowa? Chainmail? Against Glory? There wasn't even a shiny portal to explain how they cam from the past, or anything. but, get with the times guys.
