I think James is kind of mouthing it after he says “What are you going to do, beat me up again?” When he’s rolling his eyes/doing that annoyed face he does. I don’t think he’s saying “Fuck” completely, I think he’s saying basically “fu-“ the way you might if you stub your toe around a kid, like when you start to say it but cut yourself off

Why do they keep going if they mess up a line? I have never been an actor but I thought that they say cut and you start a scene over. And he never says fuck on this clip, but in other dailies, he says it whenever he screws up a line. I think SMG is just joking around with him here. It's cute.

Nah, cause unless they really need to, it will save time to just edit it out. But yeah, if they say "cut" it usually means to stop filming and re-start everything, re-do the marker, etc. which takes time, and usually only happens if something needs to be fixed or the director wants to give a note. Otherwise, sometimes the actors can't be interrupted as it will make them break character too much and the video and audio people have to re-start everything as well. Notice no one says "cut" when they mess up, they just keep rolling and just re-do the line. Once "cut" is uttered, the film actually cuts off. Also, James is kind of mouthing "fuck" a little bit. Sarah is way closer to him, so maybe she can actually hear him say it. xD
