Anthony Steward Head (Giles) wanted to spend more time with his family, so he became a repeating character, rather than a regular character. That's why he went back to England, because he was literally going back to England. Whedon did try working with the BBC after Buffy was over to put together a Giles show, but it never worked out.

Each slayer's death only calls one replacement, it doesn't keep happening. Buffy died (briefly) at the end of season 1 and Kendra was called. Then Kendra died and Faith was called. Another slayer won't be called until Faith dies. Correction: It's a DEMON motorcycle gang. They don't let vampires join, remember?

This was the season that the show moved from the WB to UPN. They did the Buffy Lives promos so all knew she was coming back in some way or another.

About the shot of Buffy's hand coming out of a grave: during the first season episode Nightmares (1x10), part of Buffy's nightmare was being buried alive then digging herself out (and then being a vampire).

And one of poor Sarah Michelle Gellar's fears are graveyards. I don't know if being cast as the main character for a series that often takes place exactly there was helpful for her or not, I hope it did.

i used to wonder why no slayer was activated after buffy's death. That's because the purpose of the activation is to to perpetuate the line of "descendance" of the slayers, once faith took on the role she was The Slayer and the process would have to wait for her death to create a new slayer

Because Buffy's replacement was already called. Her name was Kendra. The Slayer line no longer flows through Buffy since the end of season 1. A new Slayer would only be called now if Faith died.

I watched the show when it aired and from what I remember, Anthony Head left the cast because he was cast as a lead in a BBC show at the time. Also, Spike's protection of Dawn and his heartbreak over Buffy is completely heartwarming. Beautiful character.

Season 5 finale was a serie finale. When they were renewed, they came up with season 6 , and I have to say: this season is amazing. Chaotic sometimes, but so good.

Anthony Stewart Head I believe wanted to spend more time with this family back in England, his daughters were young at the time of the show and were young teens at the time of season 6 I believe. I've heard that was reason.

The reason for Anthony Head to be listed as a Special Guest Star is that during the final two seasons, he wanted to be able to spend time with his family in England. So he actually had fewer episodes in both seasons.

The look on Willow's face after sacrificing the deer was genuine. Alyson Hannigan, even knowing that any remaing scenes showing the stand-in dummy, was still affected by the act that she had supposedly done.

IDK what they were thinking with the decaying corpse shot but that's nowhere close to what a corpse would look like after only 1 summer, they don't look THAT decayed for like 10 years, i'd say it's about 15 years worth of decay depicted on Buffy in that shot. there might be some seepage and leaking after only the first summer but would still look normal for the most part like they're sleeping. Maybe because the way she died to mystical energy or something?

other things to consider, they did not bury Buffy in a cemetary, they buried her in the woods oddly enough, which also might mean they might not have had her embalmed, which could also explain an accelerated rate of decay, although i'd think that it was still exaggerated even then. I think they just exaggerated it to get the point across that she really died the way we all will one day instead of it looking like she's merely sleeping before she comes back, like how she died and came back mere minutes later in season 1, which is hardly considered actually dying at all.

I always believed that the urn had to be shattered as part of the ritual, a lot of Egyptian rituals involved shattering urns of Nile water, considering the urn they have is supposed to be "the last known urn of Osiris" makes me think each urn was a one-time use artifact

I have a suggestion for another show you could watch. It's Roswell. Of course the old, original one. It run only for 3 seasons and you can see few familiar faces in it.
