The episode you remember Buffy's hand coming out of her grave would be nightmares from season 1. Her nightmare was the master burying her alive, and Giles is Nightmare was seeing her grave, followed by her nightmare of becoming a vampire.

When the show was on The WB for seasons 1-5 Standards and practices were always all over the show wanting things changed or taken out. They famously didn’t want Willow and Tara to kiss and Joss had to slip it in to The Body. But they have said that when they moved the show to UPN for these final 2 seasons that UPN literally didn’t have a Standards and Practices department at all and they were given the freedom to do mostly what they wanted (Willow and Tara kiss in the 1st episode of season 6 I believe). And they could be as graphic as they wanted.

My wife was in a diabetic coma for three days. For days afterward, she said she kept thinking about Buffy's mental state on return. She was in the world, but it was foreign, and strange, and really hard to accept normal life. Thankfully, she adapted to this 'new' condition fairly quickly. Really nice reaction, Jen. It shows that you really care about these characters.

Jen… you have to remember we didn’t “just go through this” originally. It was 3 months or so between the end of season 5 and start of season 6. It would still be quite a while before just about anyone who wants to could binge watch the show.

S6 is incredibly hard hitting, as we know takes a much more adult tone due to the network change and restraints lifted. The problem S6 had was that it was almost impossible to follow the epic The Gift finale in S5. All in all they did a good job, and this season does contain a few incredible episodes. We see Buffy brought back, but reluctantly so, and it gradually soaks into the the Scoobies what the have done. Bargaining is of course a two-parter, and does a good job showing how they plan to go forward. Even though we know the Buffy Bot is a robot, there is immense sadness when she is pulled apart by the bikers. When Dawn and Spike come across her it's a great scene when Dawn realises Buffy is now alive as the Bot says 'the other Buffy'. The tower scene at the end is very moving too, when Dawn tries to stop Buffy jumping off again.

One thing you should understand going forward, so you’re not left wondering about potential new slayers! So it goes, there is one activated slayer called at a time - Buffy died temporarily, activating Kendra. Making her the active slayer at that time (Buffy was *a slayer, not *the slayer at this point). Kendra dies, and faith is activated. Buffy still retains her slayer abilities, but as mentioned is no longer the one called and *active. That all being said, a new slayer will only be called once faith dies!

Is that actually how it works though? Spoiler kinda: Later on in the season I think in a convo with Buffy and Giles she says "Someone would've taken my place" and he doesn't really respond. Not sure if it's kind of a writing/plot hole but yeah, I never understood what she meant by that since Faith was never going to be in the picture (at that point).

@@ebabilg it is - that may just be a confusing line of dialogue, but the slayer cycle is glitched with Buffy. So Faith is the current active slayer, and Buffy’s death will not activate another

That makes more sense to me anyway because if you think about all the demons and evil going on around the world, there are other forces of good that are there to stop it. The slayer can't be present for every apocalyptic event throughout the world.

@Hayden Rife : Hum... I'm sorry, but so far in the show, there was NOTHING ever mentioned that could point a newcomer to that conclusion. You may want to bring the initial declaration that "Into every generation, there is a chosen one. [...] She ALONE will wield the strength..." but Buffy's drowning and activating Kendra though, being revived and keeping her powers was an unprecedented event, so there is no way to tell what would happen after that, and all that was "written" before is obsolete. So there is 2 ways of seeing the things, either the one you presented, where the lineage goes through one person at a time, even though the powers may still be kept by revived ones. Or you can consider that the passing of the powers is inherent to the powers themselves, thus, Buffy still having them after being revived in S1, she still can pass them upon dying, whether or not Kendra has passed'em to Faith, and that there will always be 2 Slayers from that point onwards (and possibly 3 now that S6 has begun) And as I said, there is NOTHING in the first 5 seasons, that could make believe one of those options above the other. So to paraphrase you : One thing you should understand going forward, is that presenting your theory as a fact, and not a theory, to someone who is discovering the show and thus can't have any clue about it IS A F****NG SPOILER. So please, in the future, don't present it as a fact, but as a theory. Just to let newcomers discover things by themselves, having they're own experience. And you know what, it's ok if they haven't the same experience as you had... Just don't deny them their own experience of it. Please !

I don't like the biker demons. It's kind of a post-apocalyptic movie type vibe with random destruction. I would suppose the biker demons could attack any number of towns if they could do this to Sunnydale, and even operate in the sunlight. Why didn't they attack all the rest of the towns?

You should finish angel season 2 and start the first 3 episodes of season 3 before starting Buffy the vampire slayer season 6
