I bought x595 brand new in 2001 with loader, plow, mower and still have it today, never let me down.

That's a fine specimen of a machine right there! Nice and compact, versatile, and very capable. The only problem is that it isn't orange like we all know that all respectable tractors should be. However that's a small common mistake that can be overlooked, lol 😉. I really like the Buford Bucket style loaders. They are nice and compact, but still have the ability to lift high enough to fill a small trailer and stuff like that. I have a Johnny Bucket Jr on my GT because I don't have hydraulics. It works great for it's purpose plus I have the JB Jr. plow and a brush grapple that I built to go on it. The only problem is that the JB Jr. doesn't lift very high so you can't fill a trailer if you wanted to. For that reason I have been thinking about building a Buford Bucket myself that would just use the electric actuators instead of hydraulics. The Buford Bucket is like that perfect middle ground between a full standard style loader and a JB Jr.

I looked at a JB and was not impressed. Soo... I designed and built my first Buford Bucket. It lifts high enough for most of my projects. I used 3 inch diameter 8 inch stroke hydraulike cylinders. THe cylinders create 7000# of force. 7 square inches X 1000 psi hydraulic pressure. I am not sure that linear actuators will work.

The tractor has nine 42# suitcase weights, the weight bracket weighs over 50# and the 26X12-12 bar lug tires have fluid in them. About 90# each. Me sitting in the seat 180#. Yep. That is enough weight to prevent the back end lifting off the ground. I can fill the bucket with gravel with NO problem. I absolutely LOVE this setup.

I designed the original Buford Bucket. It was designed to use two 3" diameter 8" stroke hydraulic cylinders. The cylinders produce 7000 pounds of lift. You would have to design a completely different loader to use linear actuators. Plus a 214 is not a good choice for a loader. A Johnny Bucket type is probably what you need. That is just my opinion.

I’m getting a x758 and hopefully some type of bucket. I heard you need to install a different pressure relief rather than the one that’s on it?

If you get a Buford Bucket, I have NEVER installed the one that is recommended for the JD 45 loader. JD does not sell that loader anymore. The part# for the relief valve is M1A885143 and it costs $472 plus sales tax. etc. etc. I have ran the BB on JD 318, 322, 332 425, 455 and X595 tractors and never damaged the hydro.

Great work with the loader. How much weight would you say it can handle without twisting? I have the same tractor, and I'm trying to decide between the CTC style and the Buford one.

The loader will lift 500+ pounds. More if the tractor hydraulic pressure is over 1000 PSI. The hydraulic pressure can be increased by shimming the pump. The X595 and Buford Bucket are a great combination. The CTC loader advertises 450#.
