I just had to go through the driveshaft replacement - couldn't have done it without your video ! Talk about painful; you wonder if JD put any thought at all into the design of their machines. Final straw was having the shaft free at both ends but still unable to get it out until the footrest part was removed and the silver height setting mechanism rotated out of the way. Grrrrrr. As for that bracket securing the fuel tank.....(yes, I removed the rear wheel).

Hey there I’m not sure if you’re still on here but I just replaced my pressure relief valve on my new x758. I also shimmed the implement valve from 1100 psi to 1350 psi at full throttle. I am running a little buck loader so don’t think I’ll need much more than that. From my research it seems 1500 psi is the max for these K92 units but i read somewhere someone said shimming pressure on these is causing front axle seals to blow. Doesn’t really make sense to me but figured I would ask! Just subscribed as well great video!

Just picked up a 99' 445. changing fluids and I have water in hydro. Do you have any thoughts how or what is allowing water to get in
@gotdeeres4 ай бұрын
There is a vent on top of the hydro, but it is covered by the fuel tank. SO I cannot see how any water could get into the hydro. How much water?

Outstanding video. This is the kind of info i was trying to get from the tech manual. My tractor starts and runs 3-5 seconds then dies. If I turn the ignition switch on and wait the 3 seconds for the second click, the engine will only crank and never start. My guess it was a problem with the hold-in coil but had no info to test. This was just the procedure I needed. Thanks.

Gage wheel axels can be repaired without buying new. When you buy the gage wheel kits, they fit many tractors so they come with an axel in the kit. You take the existing one, cut it off and drill out the remainder. Then you can BOLT new axels on with the new gage wheel.

Sorry but really basic question here: When testing fuse connections on the right side circuit board of the X485, what are you connecting the circuit tester’s alligator clip to? Is it the + battery terminal?

Connect the black lead to ground. Then use the red positive lead to the fuse .

I have a X575 that I inherited when my dad passed. It has the 45 bucket loader on it. I want to change the hydraulic fluid. From what I’m gathering, the fluid that controls all the hydro stuff is from the rear transmission? So when I change the transmission fluid does the hydraulic lines need to be purged for air or anything? Sorry for the dumb question, never owned one of these! 😊
@gotdeeres7 ай бұрын
No need to purge from hydraulic lines.

The white wire receives voltage from the fuel solenoid controller. That is probably your problem.

My x495 is all zip-tied together too
@gotdeeres7 ай бұрын
That seems to be a common problem. Both of my X595's were that way.
@johnhutchinson8950Ай бұрын
Same here on an X595. It happens because engine vibration loosens the bolt which holds the entire fuel filter asssembly onto the engine block. Once that is loose and the filter assembly starts moving around a bit, it won't be long before it fails at the press-fitted part. Eventually I got a new filter assembly - put some red Loctite on the securing bolt before remounting to the engine block, backed up by JB Weld around the collar of the press fitted part.

I have an older X485.I was told I need to unlock the rear differential.Tis because when I turn sharp it continues to move forward.Do you know how I should go about doing this?
@gotdeeres8 ай бұрын
Usually backing up will unlock the differential. If that does not work, check the diff lock pedal to be sure it is free.
@gotdeeres8 ай бұрын
It also could be the return spring for the diff lock inside the hydro. This world be a major repair.

Thank you so much for the excellent video. Very helpful. I was trying to troubleshoot why my Deere 1445 Front deck tractor would not start, I've been tracing down the fuel system, and came across your video. You almost have to take the hood off to get to the battery. Or, ground negative lead and use the battery lug on the starter. I was going for easy which was also clever.
