Cheers Harry. I do miss Scotland, such a beautiful country and I loved that I could get away from everything and everyone. I'll definitely be North of the border fairly often in the future. Thanks for watching. Merry Christmas and Atb for 2020 Shaun

Nice one Shaun, I'm fond of the bothies myself, was up at Gorton the other weekend. We always take coal (and a fire log) if we're planning on bothying, nothing wrong with a bit of bothy bagging, never mind the hills, whatever range/height etc they're in. We tend to go in 'heavy' and have decent scran etc, something to wash it down with too natch. Hope you had a good trip out with the bug out bag.

I think that might be only my second time sleeping in Bothy. I see the appeal but I prefer either a tent or tarp personally. It was good for a change though, I did enjoy it. Next time I'll be taking coal and alcohol and maybe some better food but it's hard to top super noodles and a chopped up peperami! 😂 Thanks for watching. Atb Shaun

Stayed at the Buttermere YHA back in 2011, we wandered around the lake then some turned left to do haystacks, the rest of us turned right to go over high crag, high stile & red pike, then back down via scale force atb for 2020 Barry

The two bothies on that area are very busy all year round. There the honister road pass near by so very easy to get to with little effort. Lucky you got it to your self. Nice bothies tho. Richard

@@BASHADweller hard to say but I am guessing all the well-known spots going have folks all year round. Just been wild camping there this week and every night I had some one walk past the tent. My next trip I am hoping to find some good spots that maybe more of the beaten track. I think the more away from any roads or settlements this time of year I think be the spots to go. I camped in Northumberland in national park there this year and did not see one person all day I think that's because it's more out the way there in general and maybe not so many mountains. Thanks Richard

@@4seasonbackpacking Hopefully, I'll find somewhere less busy there. Yeah I find Northumberland can be quite sparse, even the Cheviot Hills can be quite empty if you avoid the obvious. Atb Shaun

Still not been to that area of Britain but like yourself I really prefer solitude and there are far too many people around there which for me takes away the essence of being alone in a wilderness, cheers Shaun and atvb for 2020.

It's a really nice part of the country but very accessible, hence a lot of people. I'll have to find somewhere a little less explored, although I will be going back. It's too nice not to. Thanks for watching and Merry Christmas. Atb for 2020. Shaun

@@BASHADweller Unfortunately our island is too overpopulated and too accessible, I was in a, what I thought secluded river valley in mid Wales last year and I couldn't believe my eyes and ears, a Muslim and his two sons kneeling down praying, literally in the middle of nowhere, pissed me right off, and yes verbal abuse was used at them.

Nothing wrong with a free park but that was a challenge with 22 lbs on your back. Been to Dubs Hut a couple of times but just stopping by and not the biggest inside. I think I would have parked at the mine at Honister, less of a challenge and a free park, when they have all gone home for the day and you could have done Fleetwith Pike on the way to the hut. Blackbeck Tarn always looks a great place for a wildcamp and I love Christmas pudding, so I am in your camp there! I hope you have a very Happy and Healthy 2020, cheers Alan

I was considering approaching from Honister and parking at the mine but after research I found you had to pay for parking so that put me off lol 😁. I didn't think of waiting until they had buggered off. I enjoyed the walk in from Buttermere anyway, so no big shakes. Glad we're on the same page with regards to Christmas pud 😂. I'm not too familiar with the Lakes, so lots more to explore this year. Thanks for watching. Atb Shaun

The views make it easier psychologically. It was probably about a 10 mile round trip. It's a heavy pack but I've made a fair few tweaks to it since then to try and get it lighter. I'll be doing an updated video of its contents soon. I have a video named 'Bug Out Bag Training Along The Cleveland Way'. That's a 109 mile trail, but I only managed 35 miles due to ill health. I show the contents of the bag how it was then in that video. Thanks for watching. Atb Shaun.
