David Grainger of the guild made an exact replica of the Bugatti Aerolith using an army of techs an unlimited budget and several years of work. His ended up in a private collection where it will never be seen by the general public, and probably rarely driven. What you have accomplished with your limited resources is truly amazing. Looks like we can count on you to show the rest of the world how resourceful Maritimers are.

Considering that the Guild is somewhere up in Ontario, maybe Dave oughta pay Chad a visit and check out his handiwork! Chad's way might not be the "Old World CRAFTSMAN" way, but it works!

Doug is 100% correct, he just wasn't really saying it too loudly ........ the seat is dead on BUT the upholstery guy really needs to thicken up the top part by the very upper back / shoulder blades, not a bit, alot .. it will look awesome but it needs to really be double the thickness by the upper back / head, no head rest needed.... amazing work !

Love the shape of that seat. The wide top will be good for shoulders. The slope on the back is a bit extreme. I would take a couple of degrees off of it so you have proper support on your upper back. Fatigue will set in quite quickly! Great fab work Chad!!
@oldshovelhead3 жыл бұрын
Great stuff as always! Have a suggestion on that very cool V8 sign - I do a lot of forced patina copper and sheet metal signage for client's - I'd use some gun bluing with a rag and wipe that sign down, heavier in some spots than others. You'd be surprised how unique of a finish you can achieve using this technique - sometimes I'll clear coat, sometimes not. But I'd guess with a good artistic hand with a rag and gun bluing you can get a great aged look and then let the elements take over from there. Thanks for all the work you two do to share what you do! 😁

Not sure if I was the "guy", but that was my comment about making the bottom of the seat match the shape of the bottom of the door. May have been someone else said it also. But in my mind it was me! For what it is worth - I find your ingenuity in this free form arena truly amazing; vision only your brain sees created from scrap. As for this specific installment I think what Doug was trying to demonstrate with the seat is for practical driving purposes the back is seated too low. I cannot really see what Jolene would see from the driver’s seat in terms of can or will she be able to see over the steering wheel/dash and through the windshield sitting that far back. Having the seat sit that way on the passenger side would be a non-issue, their just over there for the ride. For what it is worth.

Tell em,you can have their plasma cutter, welder, the whole kit and caboodle or the other companies...but half a million people looking at you videos 4/5 times a week is good air time for em. You could have people on your show to talk about the stuff their giving you. I've been around custom car's &bikes my whole life and know how hard it is to make $ ... This KZbin is a godsend.
