I love my 1990. After I replaced the factory tubes it came with, I was blown away with the tone of this amp. Even at lower volumes the 1990 has tons of great distorted tone. Best amp for the money by far in my opinion.
@EldubeG2511 жыл бұрын
for all guys here having questions about this amp, you can really compare it to a Marshall JCM 900. Verry similar heads. I've tried both, and I liked the Bugera more. Now I'm a happy owner of the 333xl infinium!
@hadleymanmusic3 жыл бұрын
So I ordered a T 120? Its like a 900 4100?
@bugera-amps13 жыл бұрын
@lakerblake Yes, the 1990 will work with EL34's, though it will require re-biasing. You will want to consult an amp tech about running on fewer tubes as it will disturb the bias. There's a pentode/triode swich which can give a similar effect to pulling out a couple tubes, without all the hassle!
@bugera-amps12 жыл бұрын
Both are great, it really depends on what kind of sounds you're looking for, and what kind of volume you can get away with.

There is a processor that regulates the current and voltage depending on the tube being used. The INFINIUM feature has worked great on all of the units we have tested.

You guys need to do some demos of mixed power tubes with the Infinium! Like 2 EL34's and 2 6L6's together. That's really got some interesting possibilities.

This amp sounds very 80s and early 90s to me. Just before the alt rock came to play with the big boys ......Marshally and all.

the 1990 (or 1960 if you have a space to turn it up loud!) will probably get you closer to Randy's tone, but the 333XL is our most versatile amp.
@bugera-amps13 жыл бұрын
@myskull54 Actually, we see a lot of DM dudes go for the 6262 or 333XL. Tighter low-end response good for downtuning/palm muting, particularly the noise gate on the 333XL.
@bugera-amps12 жыл бұрын
I would agree with that statement! It really depends on what style of metal you're talking about, but the 1990 is super versatile.

That, is pretty much up to you and what you play. No matter what, if you buy a Bugera, start by replacing the tubes with some quality tubes, they'll sound sweet then. If not an Infinium, re-bias it out of the box and please use a bias probe when done so!
@bugera-amps14 жыл бұрын
@Vetof1 Yes, you can. While it will work I'd recommend trying it out in a store first. We've heard reports of minor lag in the switching device.

@keza123123123 Not all tubes have 8 pins, but most common power amp tube designs do: 6L6, EL34, KT66, KT88, 6550, 5881, etc. The 1990 comes stock with 5881's which is a variation of the 6L6 design. Regular 6L6s can run in the original 1990 with a bias adjustment. The 1990-INFINIUM will run on nearly any octal-based power tube you want.

Which would be better for a hard rock tone with Les Paul and p90 pickups, this amp or Bugera 333 infinium?
@ShatOnATurtle11 жыл бұрын
What amp should I get, I play music like Tool, Alice in Chains, Rage Against the Machine and I do a little blues here and there. I need something that would be fairly versatile and that can give me some heavy mids for that bite. Another thing I would like to know is if it will clean up if I turn the volume of my guitar down or use a volume pedal. I usually control my amount of gain like that instead of switching channels. I was thinking the 333XL or the 6262. Thanks

@djentonomicon The 1990 is more of an old-school high-gain sound, but I think that if you turned up the lows and maybe boosted the front end with an overdrive or boost, the 1990 would be capable of bringing teh djentz. :)
