I m an engineer with an advanced degree in electronic engineering. The thing that I can never understand is that, based on the number of units these companies manufacture, for just a few dollars more (or pounds as they say on your side of the pond), they can make them sound as good as anything else on the market. The most expensive components on the parts list are probably the transformers, which will definitely affect the sound, but at the quantities that they purchase, a top quality transformer would not add that much to the total cost to build the amp. Other components cost pennies. So there are two basic reasons for the amp not to sound great, inferior components or inferior engineering. If the problem is the engineering or design, then just hire competent engineers who know what a good amp should sound like (in other words, engineers who are guitar players),. If the problem is in the quality of the components, then just use better components and raise the price $25.00 to cover it. They might lose a sale or two because of the price, but if they built a better amp they most likely wind up selling more units and actually be more profitable in the long run. If someone was ready to spend $300.00 for a decent amp, they would surely spend $350.00 for a killer one. The actual manufacturing cost (engineering costs put aside) of a $50,000.00 Dumble amp probably isn't much more than two to three times that of a $1,000.00 Fender amp

You’d be surprised at how much it costs to get a guaranteed supply of a $25 product. If you want to be on the priority list, you have to sign a contract. A contract requires legal review and penalties for late payments. In theory you are absolutely correct. In practice, a few extra quality parts makes you Jim Marshall.

As another engineer who had master degree on power amps and amps in general when it comes to music, well i have to say that guitar players think trough price tag, there is nothing wrong with this Bugera. The same amp is the Vox nigh train but with that name they like it more. Put this amp into another box and tell them it cost 2000E/ US$ etc they will be in love with it. Like it was hard to change the tubes, or to move away amp from gadgets with large transformer and bunch of cables that are causing that noise in the video? Of course not. Anyhow i tried this amps and they are great IMHO. Not the best amp in the world because that is very subjective thing, but from engineering stand point this amps are well made and when i play trough them they are OK and i know pro musicians who like them a lot. But they are honest and some say that are afraid because of the name, will it last on the road and so on. Anyhow my experience is positive one.

Most valve amps are clones of one another. For the most part I disagree with some of these opinions. If you a / b'd these blindly with some other amps you would probably have different opinions. Same goes for guitars. Sounds like there's something is wrong with that amp if 50 watts of tube amp can't out loud a 50 watt solid state digital amp.
@vexguine2 жыл бұрын
Peolple who starts arguments with "As a..." discredits their own argument. You don't need credentials for a good point. That said, i disagree with you. They don't sound bad at all. Bugera belongs to Music Tribe (they own Behringer, TC Electronic, Helicon and many other brands) a german global holding. They cut costs by manufacturing every single part in many facilities from around globe, from speakers to screws. The "engeneering" is based on cloning famous circuits (T50 is a clone of Vox night train 50H) that are sellable but has production design flaws that make they expensive and fail on the market due to price. So they correct those flaws and produce it at a competitive cost. Nothing wrong with bugera or behringer. This amp sounds amazing for the consumer it targets and Infinium is really a game changing technology and the only one able to allow tubes to still be a thing. The high demand mass consumer products can't be expensive. Infinium take those costs and make it accessible. I'm selling all my tube amps and buying Bugera Infiniums... Tube amplification for decades without biasing, matching, servicing, shopping, blablabla. Just plug and play. That's what consumers want. That's what they deliver. Marshall, on the other hand, is interested in selling headphones, mugs, t shirts and bluetooth speakers. Is a merch brand and thats all. Check out the entry line of Marshall from 10 years to now. Its horrible. You can't find a single one working properly, tube or SS.

tbh i really liked the sag and sound of this amp. i also noticed on my bugera 6262 that i have to turn it up quite a lot. the 6262 is a somewhat/almost copy of the peavey 6505+. i own a peavey 6505+ and just wanted the bugera for playing shows due to the self biasing thing and cheaper price, so it wouldn't be too bad if the thing got damaged. the humming/noise is pretty equal on both amps at equal volumes, which is a non issue to me since i use a nouse gate pedal in any case because of the levels of gain i play at. the bugera needs a lot more twist on the volume dial to get to the same volume as the peavey, despite both being nominally at 120watt output power. i'm very satisfied with it.

This is the second review I've come across where the reviewer has said [paraphrasing] "the Clean sound is good, Dirty, so-so". While viewing dozens of amp/amp head videos some patterns have emerged. There seems to be a move towards Clean in both recording and live performances because (long story shorter) it's easier for both to produce the "desired" sound from a clean tone. I've not come across a single reviewer that has said "these are not reliable", and they've been out since the 2010's. I'm NOT a pro musician but I enjoy a lot of small venue concerts. Everything I've heard (even from you here) seems to indicate that this would be a solid choice for at least more low key performers. Especially, since most have to consider budget from the start. Honestly, your review left me scratching my head.

Take into consideration, that these guys probably only used one of the two powertubes in this "demo". And more importantly, the speakers. This can be a bit confusing, but look into it. An amp with 50W and a 1x12" driver with a *sensitivity rating* of 103dB. Would have the same output as a 100W amp with a 1x12" driver with a sensitivity of 100dB. (This is a bit simplisticly explained, it is more into it than that. Look into this if it is of importance) Another example. You can stack drivers, from 1x12, to 2x12 and so on, and have a much greater outcome in the output department, than focusing just on a 20/30/50/100w amp. The bigger wattage amps typically got more clean headroom, but that necessarily is not what is wanted. A bit of breakup could be cool, with small amps, but with plenty of drivers, you would get the output. Too. (or PA and tiny ones miced up) And vice versa. You could get a driver to break up too. Look it up and decide what you need. MY T50 with 1x12" can play with plenty of volume, and oomph, and fills the room 60m2 with ease. Typically i dont go beyond 12oClock. That volume is heard outside. But more importantly, it sounds good way below that. And that aint all that common.

If I remember correctly, this was made to be a replica (can we say that?) of the Vox NightTrain mk1, which wasn't exactly a particularly good amp in its own right. I do wonder why Bugera chose to make their own version of that amp rather than the AC15/30. They went for the Peavey 5150 and JSX, Marshall Plexi and JCM900, Matchless and Mesa Mark V (which we're definitely not allowed to talk about 🤫), and then ... the NightTrain?! I'd recommend trying the Vox so you can see they're both naff, or trying one of the other Bugeras so you can see the good models they've made 🙂
@ROCKNROLLMODS2 жыл бұрын
I think it's been pretty well "KZbin proven" recently that 90% of our tone comes from our speakers. And furthermore, V30s are about the only acceptable speaker in which to receive the golden tone. Hence the insane cost of GENUINE V30's I play one of these t50's and it's no secret, that I'm a cheap gear aficionado. And this amp is capable of making all of the right noises, with ample headroom, and really cuts through the ether.

Mr. Pink shirt seems to be a chronic complainer. The fact that he does not understand the "Tone" cut indicates he's ignorant and also clearly his hearing acumen is very questionable. Does anyone believe that real musicians have such snarky attitudes toward guitar gear? These guy's here just get off on being people who make fun of things they don't know how to use properly.

All this maybe true and yet the Amp is still a pile of crap.

@@TheStudioRats except that it isnt. Plenty of folks with tried and true gear, you would approve of, appreciate them greatly. Even compared to other stuff of merit. Find the class A/AB switch on the 3rd one you try. And solve your grounding issues.
