I do laundry every day, some days ALL day and my water bill has never gone over $300 for a 3 month cycle. I once left the hose on by accident overnight and my water bill was $400 for those 3 months. That includes the hose wasted water.... To get to $1000 it was either a LEAK, which they would see more than one high water bill until the leak is FIXED ORRRRR the tenant got mad and left the water run to jack the bill up cause she was mad.
@colleenobrien82123 жыл бұрын
Or there’s a problem with the water meter or whoever read the meter read it wrong. If you are renting to people and have 3 units on one meter it would be best if you kept track of the meter reading at the end of every cycle.

My water company came around and installed “smart meters” a couple of years ago, and even taking care of a Spring/Summer garden on more than an acre of land, my water bill rarely goes above $35 per month, and during the Winter months, it usually runs about $25.

@Bill j This all may be true from your experience and perspective. It may be true here. However, the judge is not sheltered because I would be considered in that same group. And I am not sheltered. All section 8 participants are not "low-life" and lazy. There are some section 8 landlords that are equally as sketchy and predatory. Having worked with both, it is vicious cycle that the government is funding without proper checks and balances.
@diva70smusic4 жыл бұрын
@Bill j I can believe all that you posted to be true. But I would just like to point out Section 8 people and properties are not all bad. Income based and rent control properties can work for people who really need the the help. People who rent to Section 8 recipients take a gamble on getting good tenants. The government pays market rate on the housing offered. My family and other relatives own and have rented land, buildings and homes for generations with varying degrees of success. It is challenging for all involved. In this court case, we can all agree this tenant gives all renters a bad name.

That just doesn’t make sense though. We had a family of 4 living in a large house growing up. We never had a water bill like that. And we all showered everyday and did laundry almost every day of the week. We didn’t have a bill like that ever. This woman is living in a small apartment. The apartment that I live in now, it’s a family of 3. My boyfriend and I shower everyday, I do our laundry every day, and I bathe our baby every other day. Our bill is not like that ever. I think the landlord is lying. She has no proof of it. At the end of the video when the landlord was asked about the mysterious water bill her eyes started getting all wide and twitchy. Especially if you notice damages, they will find any and all damages and you will be held accountable....it's just how it goes!
