If Cross Guild doesn't get involved, any amount of money and power they have will amount to nothing. Cross guild to me appears to be mustering up anyone that isn’t aligned with the other emperors, particularly those who have had loses (sans mihawk) against the strawhats, personally can see Buggy deciding he wants to establish a new 7 warlords under his banner, he’s already got 2 beside himself can probably get Capone Bege, might bring back a stronger Arlong, Smoothie, King, Wapol, and Foxy though those later 2 probably get absorbed into the lieutenants group. @@ReiseLukas He doesn't have to, I think. He was on Roger's ship during their hunt for the Ponoglyphs. As long as he remembers those details, he can probably jump right to it. I feel Shanks taking Kidd's glyph rubbings was more to deprive them of the info than to gain the info for himself. The two of them have a massive leg up on the others hunting the One Piece, as just like Reileigh they basically already went there, even if Buggy kept the two of them from actually stepping on the island themselves.

There is a reason why Shanks didn't go after the One Piece early. Because he knew he wasn't the next Joyboy and decided to paved the way for the true successor. That's why he went after the Gum Gum Fruit and originally planned on giving it to Ace (who he thought was the one), but it was actually Luffy who is the next Joyboy after accidentally eating the fruit and told his true dream to Shanks which was the very same dream his captain Roger had.

Kinda like Law's room ability without the restrictions.

My theory is that most of the old warlord join the cross guild like moria, doffy, law, Boa, Weevil. Moria Law and Boa have the same goal of getting revenge on Blackbeard and if Buggy wants to get one piece, they have to eliminate all the other yonkos. So this common goal can unite these characters. Doflamingo wants to watch the world burn, so joining the cross guild gives him the perfect place to witness the events of the world. Weevil, on the other hand, is a character that is easy to manipulate, so cross guild can free him while they free Doffy and quite easily manipulate him to their side

My prediction is that Luffy is actually going to be the one to find the One Piece, but by the power of luck and perfect timing, Buggy is somehow going to be the one who is credited for it in the public eye. It satisfies all parties involved. Luffy fulfills his dream which satisfies us fans, but Buggy gets…the last laugh 😏
