A lot of people will talk about Ford or GM when they have problems but when Toyota or Honda does, no one likes to talk about them having problems. All vehicles will have problems in one way or another.

The most problematic vehicle I've had was a 2012 Tundra. Mixer valve would pop. Dealer took the dash completely apart to replace it. Had tons of rattles after that. The air induction pump froze and had to be replaced. The transmission would clunk hard when it shifted into 6th around 38 miles an hour. Radiator leaked, and the steering rack went out.

In the first few years, the 2nd gen Tundras had tons of problems. Camshaft failures, 4x4 and driveline issues, ball joint issues. They were not perfect in the least, but people act as if they were flawless masterpieces. Same is true for the outgoing Tacoma. It had severe transmissions issues, but people think they were bulletproof.

Toyota got away with it for a long time because they rarely strayed away from tried and true engine and electrical architecture for years and years. That allowed them just have continous improvement on the same things for years. With Ram, GM, and Ford outselling the Tundra 3-1 to over 5-1, in addition to playing in the heavy and medium duty classes, of course they're going to have more issues. Ford alone has 6 gas, and two variants of their 6.7 diesel. But as Toyota currently sees, with new technology and features comes newfound kinks. But all is forgiven because ya know...Toyota.

Yeah my 07 tundra killed water pumps, air injection pumps, and brakes all the time. Tundras just aren’t as great as other Toyota products.

We bought the new gen Tundra in 22 (SR5 4x4 crew max) love the truck. Had it 4 months when it developed a nasty rattle somewhere in the drivers side door. The dealer had it 3 months trying to repair it. The rental Tundra they gave us as a loaner left us stranded when it shut down on the freeway (waste gate issue) we finally got the truck back and in December my wife was stranded again when our Tundra shut off while driving at highway speed. This time it was engine failure due to the main rod bearing blowing up. Toyota opted to rebuild the engine which took a month. We’ve had the truck back for two weeks and it failed again. I’ve asked Toyota to replace the vehicle but they are opting to do a buy back which leaves us short of our investment and puts us at a major dis-advantage having to now replace the truck at higher prices and much interest. Been a Toyota family for 20 years and to say I’m frustrated would be an under statement. I do see that Toyota has decided to replace some vehicles for others in this situation. I’m hoping they will do the right thing and replace our truck.

@@djperez399 The early '23's were terrible with issues, and all of the current models have fit, finish, rattle issues. Completely UN-Toyota-like. Aggravating really , as I wanted one badly. Right now I wouldn't wizz on one if it were burning. I'll keep my 2020 SR5.

Sensors on a turbocharged engine? 😂 there is a waste-gate and aneroid valve on my truck only, zero electronics, no ignition system on the engine. 😂 I think you want a carburetor and not EFI

I worked for Toyota for 25 years in the rav4 factory in QC. There are so many parts in a brand new designed vehicle that it is hard to test every issue. When stuff comes up we do a ECI, and fix issues going forward. All car brands have these issues no matter the price you pay. Some times suppliers send parts that are not up to spec, and we try and catch that before they get built, but sometimes they are not, it suck’s for the customer but it does happen. The price of labor, they would be $1000000 to check everything perfectly to that extent. They always say to wait for the last model year of a vehicle to get the best one, and that is 100% accurate, they improve as they go along. I think Toyota does a better job than most at these issues, but they do happen, and usually it is a small number of vehicles, not all like some manufacturers. You could do this list on any car or brand with similar results.

That definitely puts things into perspective . From what I have learned recently, it's essentially what happened with the recent outbreak of lifter issues with the GM trucks. A supplier was shipping a batches of springs with a slightly wider tolerance range than the specification that GM gave them and it takes just one out-of-spec spring in one of 16 lifters to cause an angry owner on the internet. Even when the rate of failure for lifters is under 1%, to the public it looks huge when you sell a million vehicles each year with AFM.

The real difference is that Toyota gets a pass where Ford and GM problems are repeated ad-nauseum. Worst new car I've ever purchased a Solara. Rattles and the clear coat coming off after 6 months. Was told it was acid rain by my dealer. But acid rain doesn't damage the clear coat from the outside in. Finally re- clear coated by Toyota after getting the regional manager involved. Was also told a lot of Toyotas had the same issue but it was being covered by the owners insurance. After you pay the deductible, of course. Toyota gets paid to fix their own issue.

I swapped my 23 Tundra Limited 4x4 with 25k (14 month ownership ) miles for a 24 Silverado LTZ 4x4 Duramax. I had the cracked seat panel, alignment issue (I had to replace tires), 4 recalls, 16 lifetime MPG average, and what pissed me off the most was that my Toyota App (remote start/lock/unlock) and Navigation was turned off after 1 year (subscription only). Final straw. Chevrolet had 5k trade kicker, so I got 49k trade plus 5k rebate, and $3600 tax savings. So 57,600 for the trade and got another 4k off Silverado MSRP. Loving the 27 MPG on my work commute.

To say the "bugs not worked out yet" is quite the understatement when you are spinning bearings on what now looks like over 50, maybe more engines in these Tundras. That's not like Toyota quality, feels more like the original Ecoboost engines that were throwing rods out the block for the first few years. Toyota is losing their way, and that's coming from a huge Toyota fan.

24 CrewMax Platinum with 3100 miles. Love the truck after having a 19 Ram 1500 (traded in with 52,000 miles) with numerous cracked rear window frames and exhaust manifolds. Issues: Fuel Gauge: Happens on grade and level surfaces. Common denominator: Over fill of fuel after full "click" to round up to nearest dollar. Might be a 32 gallon tank issue. My wife has a 24 Sequoia with the 23 gallon tank. No issues to this point. Seat back of driver seat "croaks" when moving in seat. Does not do it in cold. Rear bumper misaligned (my OCD) panel gap of the rear bumper caps are visually different. Occasional throttle delay (Not nearly as bad as Ram 1500) Sometime a throttle surge when engine is cold. (Try to feather the throttle during engine warm up, surge occasionally occurs at initial acceleration after stop). Carplay connection issue after Iphone IOS upgrade, I believe it was the IOS issue not the truck's infotainment system. No issues since the latest IOS upgrade came out. My dealer has been made aware and will attempt to correct things at the 5000 mile service. Note: I changed the oil at 2500 miles and I will at every 5,000 miles. I am not a fan of the small oil filters used on these 3.5ish TT's.

As someone who works at a Toyota dealer I can guarantee it’s more than 45 truck owners…. I’ve seen about 5 trucks getting engines just at my dealership alone. And a host of recalls that have been getting dealt with. Truck is having some serious growing pains.

I took my 2019 TRD into a local dealership that shall remain unnamed. This was for routine maintenance. When I was talking with the service advisor a new Tundra pulled into the lane. I asked if all the issues have been resolved. The advisor responded with a resounding “No”! They said every time we see a Gen 3 Tundra pull up we ask ourselves “what in the world is it going to be today?” I’m very happy with my 19 and have no plans for changing.

@@jeanclaude7018 I had a 2013 Tundra SR5 and now a 19 TRD Off Road. I also have a 2018 Camry. Fortunately, we have had zero issues with any of them. That’s not to say that some people don’t. However, there is no denying that the 3rd generation Tundra has been a problem child for Toyota. Of course, you should expect growing pains with a newly launched vehicle, but I think this is more than anyone would expect. The 2018 Camry was a ground up redesign for Toyota and ours has been perfect.

Yeah I owed the 2022 platinum Tundra for a year and I loved it at first but there was just so much I couldn’t stand. I traded for a 2023 Silverado and it was fantastic truck. Now I have a 24 4Runner and it’s just wonderful. All the quality, simplicity, durability, and history of longevity and reliability and comfortable. Less is more.

@@buffalogtr Yes I would. If I wanted a full size truck I would get a Silverado or GMC Sierra. I would lean towards American made models and trims. I’d also recommend an RST trim with some options over the higher or off-road trims on Silverado since it’s more practical and affordable. You should be able to get a good deal on one with several grand off MSRP these days. Also recommend the V8 5.3 liter.

Very happy with my Tundra! I have my 23 Platinum w/17k miles on it. I had the door trim issues. They got replaced and have been fine since. I do experience some rattling when driving over bumps, but nothing to get heated about. Overall, I trust Toyota as a manufacturer and would purchase again in the future. I can't say the same about the two previous GM trucks I owned that left me and my family stranded.

(Yes, they are different. If you’ve experienced both, you know). Failure for cruise to work in temps below 32. All in 6 months…

I know Toyota makes quality vehicles but their insainly cult following are sucking on too many Toyota marketing fumes. They are good yes but aren't great. They do have common issues and always have if you talk to the average mechanic. Sure they are not as prone to issues as most manufacturers but they do have issues and some can be just as costly as some of those less reliable makes. Always do your own research and think for yourself, question everything.

Summer of 2023 I was having service work for the Smog pumps on my '07 Gen2 Tundra at a major Toyota Dealership. I was speaking with the Service Manager about the new then 2023 Gen3 Tundra issues and he suggested I wait a couple more years before getting serious about a Gen3 Tundra.

@@barryburnside2512 both smog pumps and the control valves on the back of the engine rusted, plus a plastic tube over the engine to the control valve had split. $2700. Toyota knew there was a problem, but didn’t tell you unless you had a problem. They extended the warranty coverage to 100k miles and 10yrs. I was in the desert, no moisture issues. I was over 200K miles when it happened.

@@billtisdale6122 I learned about this problem the hard way. My 07 went into “limp mode” and there you go. So far, I’ve cleared the codes and it has not been acting up. This interests me as I am looking for a 2024 Tundra but a little hesitant because of the unknown with the 3rd Generation. Saying that, I hope they are as good as my 07. Thanks for replying.

One thing to consider when it comes to Toyota is that they are very quick to make changes to known problems. Much more so than other manufacturers. The waste gate issue, once identified, was resolved very quickly with recalls and also a a re-engineering to the turbo units. Like the issue with the engine failure problem, it was a relatively small number of units which leads to believe it was as you mentioned, a bad run of units. I agree, if it happens to you it’s a huge issue and inconvenience. But should people shy away from a Tundra? I don’t think so. Toyota is very good about making design and production changes to resolve these types of known problems. Much more so than other manufacturers.

Had a '23 limited hybrid max for 3 months and couldn't take it anymore. Violent shaking and vibration when towing a 4k trailer, constantly clunking through gears, mind numbing beeps while backing the trailer in trailer mode, and did I mention the shaking and vibration. Dealer refused to help, Toyota promised a corporate engineer and got nothing. Finally had to cut my loses and went to a '24 Silverado high country with 3.0 LZ0, smooth as silk!

I was listening just the other day to a radio call in about car repairs, One caller who i know of said he had 2023 Tundra with engine failure as it seized up at I think he said 23,000km. Waited 3 months for the repair and replaced with a short block and 7 days later after getting it back seized up again!

Thanks for the Tundra update. I watched tons of your vids last fall before deciding on a leftover 23 Tundra. Only issue I've had was the drivers seat front leg extension stopped working within the first week and they have to replace the entire seat track to replace that little motor. I can forsee my platinum door trim breaking this summer when it gets over 100 as it expands quite a bit between the doors when the sun hits it but I will probably just remove all the trim if it breaks.

As an 2022 tundra owner I can tell you I have a lot of problem with my infotainment system, laggy connection, and all the time disconnecting from my phone which caused me to punch my screen several times a day, Radley interior, transmission, clunk, or throttle delay, like you mentioned, had to replace my tires at 40,000 miles due to excessive cracking and big holes on my sidewall, I went with Cooper discover ATP, right now I have on the truck 50,000 miles and I just purchased new brakes and rotors because they already resurfaced my rotors once and it’s still shaking during breaking. Parts were about 800 bucks total and there is no aftermarket option. Overall I like the truck but it’s just have a lot of problems. I also been a 4runner owner for the past 10 years. Had a 2010, 2015 , 2019 and my current one is 2021 and I had zero issues whatsoever with the build quality, drivetrain or any of the problems I’m experiencing with the tundra

FYI - I have a car device used for the infotainment system that uses 4g. I play movies and whatever on it. However, this device never has issues connecting to the truck. What I have found is crappy 5G service causes the phone to disconnect.

2023 Tundra Limited TRD Off-road, have most of these same issues, the acceleration lag is the scariest and def a safety concern. HVAC is way under powered, brakes squeak, window trim loose, etc etc… very disappointed:/

The EPA has ruined the American auto industry by forcing manufactures to cut corners in order to meet idiotic pollution levels. It's not Toyota's, or Ford's, or Chevy's fault; it's the US government's war on nearly meaningless emission's fault.

I have a 23’ limited with 11k. Don’t notice any tire issues as of yet at least. I somewhat agree on the laggy transmission thing. It seems to not be tuned well at low speeds. I had the fuel gauge thing happen just once. And yes to the weird start stop thing going into park, I disable mine nearly every time. Overall I love my Tundra! Every vehicle has issues and quirks. My complaints are minor. Still agree with others that these things are pretty much unacceptable.

I have a 2022 Limited - OFF ROAD- NH- 20k miles- and I love mine- no rattle- no wind noise - no lag- powerful as can be. I bought the truck with 16 k. miles and the previous owner cracked the seat- toyota replaced it. The one point I’d like to make about these cheaply made plastic seats is that you have to baby it. The mistake people make - besides needing to lose weight - is that regardless of whether the owner has the side rails on the truck- people still tend to SLIDE off the seat - that’s a sure way to break it. Everyone in my family receives a tutorial on how to get out of my truck. When getting out of the truck…. You step on - with both feet - supporting yourself using the hand rail (?) on the side rail- THEN you step off the rail. Less stress on seat- NO SLIDING- What’s the point of having the side rails if people don’t use them. Thank you for the video!

I have a 2023 trd pro and i have the alignment issue, i went to toyota dealer a couplke times, but nobody really wants to go deep on the issue, so i called corporate toyota, but they want me to put more miles on the tundra, im going to lose tires and i will try to get toyota to replace them, i aint paying for a new set of tires so soon

Way too many issues for me. I’ll keep my 07 Tundra that’s never had any issues other than cracked vinyl on the center console. I took it to an upholstery shop and got it fixed better than new for 90 bucks.

The hesitation feels like a transmission issue to me. Almost as if the tundra doesn't want to go into first.....then finally agrees. Happens to me on a near stop, a strong yield if you will.

I've experienced premature brake wear / rotor warping on my 2022. Luckily I bought the truck from Carmax and they've taken care of me. They turned the rotors twice while under their 90 day / 4k warranty and they just replaced the rotors and pads all around at 10k miles since my purchase at no charge to me due to it being a continuous issue. The brakes were fine under light duty / flat road driving. The warping started immediately while using brakes coming down a mountain (all 3 times they warped). Tested a mountain descent immediately following the install of new OE parts and no warping so far! Fingers crossed.

22 Platinum hybrid owner. Door seal is the only issue I've had. No throttle response issues, no fuel gage issue, no seat crack issue (I think people can't lift their fat butt off the seat, caused by dragging it). No paint issues, no infotainment issue. So yes people have had issues, but others have had great luck with their truck. Its easy for the haters to hate. At the end of the day, my roof isn't splitting appart lifter failure (GMC) and my truck doesnt take the title "King of poor quality" (Ford). 😂

Got a 22 limited. Overall I really like the truck. Issues I have had- 1. Cracked panel on side of drivers seat. Small thing. I replaced it myself but it cracked way to easy from exiting the truck 2. The air vent fan is WAY too weak. Borderline sucks. 3. Auto climate function sucks. It’s either hot or cold in the truck. All the time. No point in having temp settings 4. Driver’s seat is showing wear at 47,000 miles - seat is loose from the frame The cracked seat panel and poor climate - poor build quality

Yeah, I can tell you I’ve had some of these issues on my 22 Tundra 1794 - fuel gauge, infotainment screen blanking out, and don’t get me started with the PIN - it’s annoying and frankly I feel cheated that I paid for navigation but now have to pay for an ongoing subscription, thanks for wireless CarPlay to save the day.

Just started to notice after my 22 Capstone was parked for 5ish days and I now have what feels like a slight misfire under light acceleration and while it's idling. My first thought was I got water in the gas so totally filled it with high test non ethanol fuel, this issue is still there since doing so and planning to call the dealership to have diagnosed. The first thing I had to take to the dealership was ABS/ BRAKE and check engine light whenever I had my phone in the wireless charger before starting my truck and the bed popped / creaked and was super annoying when the rear window was down. Both was resolved by a software update to the infotainment system and retorquing the bed bolts. I'll keep you posted on what is found with my current issue.

I had to have my engine replace on my 2022 tundra. I had 540 miles on my truck before I had total engine failure. It took 6 weeks to have engine replaced and my truck returned to me. My CarPlay stoped working and I’m wanting for replacement. It’s been a week so far. Very disappointing

You need to add the sensors are picking up phantom vehicles/objects. Damn things keep going off when the sun flickers when driving. Toyota just needs to let us shut the damn beeps off. SNOW!!! Snow covers the flipping sensors and it constantly flashes that the sensors are covered and will not go away. I can't clear it and it reappears no matter how many times you acknowledge it. Want to see how much range you have left, well you cant because the damn sensors are flashing. Yes I know I have sensors covered I am driving through a flipping blizzard.

I don't think I will ever like this new Tundra. I know the regulations on new vehicles for fuel economy and safety are a pain for manufacturers, but putting those things aside, there are still so many things they screwed up on this one.

I have a 22 Tundra 1794 STD Bed w/ auto level air suspension. Manufacturer date May 2022. Current mileage 22,500. Only a few issues: 1) wind noise Driver’s door gasket, wind noise - resolved 2) wind noise RR passenger door gasket - not resolved 3 attempts. Toyota corporate notified for post warranty repair when fix is available. 3) crinkling noise roof liner at front passenger corner near visor - resolved. 4) rear brakes occasional squeak - resolved. 5) Dead throttle when at less than 20 MPH and trying to accelerate. This has happened 4 times in 19 months, but one event almost got me T-boned at an intersection. - Will ask dealer to flash or update ECU at my 25,000 mile service. The issues have been sporadic and the RR door wind noise is not as bad after the last service. Overall, I still like my Tundra. I still have my very simple 2003 Tundra access cab 4x4 w/ 4.7L v8, 230,000 miles. I know through experience that Toyota will resolve my remaining issues. We have had several GM SUVs over the last 20 years and were very disappointed with recalls and recurring issues, especially brakes.

I was one of those lucky folks who had the #2 rod bearing go out which resulted in engine failure and complete replacement. I have owned three generations of Tundra and two generations of 4Runner and this has been, without a doubt, a major disappointment for me. I also have a major issue with the throttle hesitation. It's not a turbo lag, it's a hesitation. It's really annoying when you need to pull out into traffic but you're not sure if you can rely on your vehicle to go when called upon. The dealership only says "It's a known issue". Really disappointing Toyota...

Interesting to see so many issues with the Tundra, regardless that some are infrequent. One has to remember that people writing in to the forums are usually unhappy with the vehicle. I have a '17 RAM Ecodiesel that Stelantis has had a significant number of failures. Fixed the turbo lag by having an aftermarket ECM tune done--night and day improvement which also increased power and moved fuel economy up from ~27 mpg to ~30 (doing 55-65, 27 when driving 75-80). Absolutely love the RAM--quiet, no rattles, never in the shop, brakes are less than 1/2 worn at 112k miles. It does have an affinity for tires at 35k though.

I had 22 then 23 now 24 only had 2 of these problems but only 22 and 23 year Crack on driver seat nothing on 24 and tire wear outside both 22 and 23 when I had the 23 I had it aligned after 15k Miles much better right now no issue with tires on the 24 and none of the other issues at all

This is my 3rd Toyota truck. My last 07 Tundra I had for 16 years no big problems. My 2022 is sitting at the dealership right now almost a month. I am one of the engine replacements. The dealership is doing good trying to take care of me, I believe big Toyota (Corporate) could be doing a much better job. I spent a lot of money on my truck. I might be posting a video in the future about my engine. Toyota is supposed to contact me Tuesday so we will see if they try to do anything to help. Only other problem I really think my truck is having was the throttle lag. Sometimes it seems dangerous when my truck doesn’t move right away. Hope they can fix it. My 23' is getting ready to go into the dealer for the shark fin antenna leaking when in the car wash into my headliner, also the rear dome light is falling out, steering wheel left side control panel is sticking out further than the right is and not smooth when you run your hand over it. Also have a issue with the upper portion of the front drivers seat where when you move around it sounds like bubble wrap. I have seen this issue before on the forums and the seat needs to be taken apart. I also had the alignment issue, uneven tire wear and would track to the right on straight roads. Which when it was supposedly corrected with the alignment, my steering wheel is now off center. I still don't think it's correct. Truck is a 23' Tundra Limited with 3100 miles, build date of August 23'. Still love the truck but Toyota needs to get some things fixed.

The fan on,y behaves normally when on LO for AC, as you turn the temperature up, the fan speed drops. Dealer told me this was normal, but it is annoying.

I'm having some of these issues too. It's same exact Tundra (color also) as you Tim. Throttle, turbo lag and a lot of infotainment center issues ( I recorded video on this for 15k mile service pass along, if needed). Not even addressed, so having to set up an appt to determine why. I just received my 2d FOB during my 15k service, after I've been complaining for a whole year about it. Also, from driver side, when both drivers/passenger windows are down and you pull both buttons to make them go up, driver side goes up and passenger window hesitates and goes down and stops. I'm super disappointed, since I've owned Toyotas since late 80s. (88 Hilux -- Marty McFly exact version)

I’ve heard about a lot of issues with the new Tundra. A service writer at the dealer near me told me they see a lot of them come back with turbo failures and other issues. I think I’ll wait at least 5 years before I consider buying one of these, if I ever do.

I have a 2024 Limited TRD off road. Build date of 10/2023. I've had the truck for almost 4 months now and about 2,000 miles. There are some rattles inside the cab which surprises me because my past Toyotas are always rattle free. The center console is a joke. Squeaky noises and just a poor design overall. All windows and pano roof work as they should with no leaks so far. I find the drivability of the vehicle is better in ECON as opposed to Normal or Sport modes. But I grandpa drive this truck because.... I am a grandpa. I don't like the transmission shifting on cold starts. It slams into gear, like from reverse to drive. I found that putting it into drive first, then reverse before backing out of my driveway helps. Once warmed up everything is fine. But the biggest thing that made my decision to get the Tundra is that the Toyota service departments in my area are miles ahead of Ford or Ram as far as service and fixing things.

I had a 2022 and now a 2024. My 2022 had the heater replaced twice and the seals changed out. My 2024 only has 1300 miles on it and I live in Montana. My heater absolutely sucks. My heated steering wheel gets hot sometimes. My wife has a 2024 sequoia and the heater is fantastic in it. My 2024 is a Pro and it feels like I'm dragging something heavy behind me sometimes. Still love the truck!

I am currently having the vibration issue with my sequoia and tundra. Both hybrid. Theres that really annoying vibration. I’ve had to disable the lane departure warning for safety reasons. It’s been escalated to corporate but the shop foreman claim the vibration is or may be normal. I told him it wasn’t doing this when I drove it off the lot. This issue is becoming more popular as more trucks are hitting the streets

My 2019 tundra had tire wear issues. Dealer did fix with an alignment for free at 5000 miles. Otherwise that truck was flawless. Wish I didn’t get rid of it.

No manufacturer is immune from new product introduction issues. Part of the reason lexus and toyota are at the top on quality is because they very rarely change their designs. I like toyotas - but they just lack the real practical features that Ford trucks have. Very happy with my 2023 Tremor.

Rear locker available for, I don’t know, forever (??) on F-150 every trim while Toyota was telling us that this was not needed on TRD-Pro off road centric trucks. Rear disc brake on Ford trucks vs Toyota telling us that drum brakes are actually beneficial. 😃 Fully boxed frame on Fords vs Toyota telling us that C-channel frame flexibility is great for us users. Now suddenly these features are available and they are better for us users on Toyota too but tow hooks are suddenly bad for safety. 😍

I've got "gaposis" on my 22 Limited on the passenger and driver side trim piece. It may be contributing to wind noise as well. The sunroof interior slider has an almost 1" gap in the front and is not designed to close that gap. Very tacky looking... On a positive note at 18k, it jumps out of the hole and has no fear of frantic passing!

None of these problems should have been put onto the consumer. Every one of these issues should have been addressed at the testing phase prior to release. Ultimately, this all comes back to Mike Sweers. He should have been fired a long time ago.

Engine replacement….. I watched a video on u- tube a guy had a rod bearing go on his new tundra 16,000 miles I believe ,and they did not replace the engine,they had a long list of parts and it sounds like it was only rebuilt. It took 7 weeks to repair with no contact with customer until truck was finished even though customer tried and tried to contact dealer with no call back from dealer! The cost to repair was approximately $30,000, which was covered by Toyota. If this is true that is BS. A rebuilt engine on a new truck,and NO RETURN PHONE CALLS FROM THE DEALER……like really, that is horrible customer relations!!!! On top of that he had 1 day to pick up his truck or the dealer would charge him for the rental ……the truck broke down and was at a dealer 600 miles from home! WHAT REASONABLE DEALER WOULD DO THAT TO A CUSTOMER!!! I personally would never purchase anything from this dealer if this is how I was treated!

My 22’ Tundra has door wind noise, called Toyota help line they took notes and said the dealership who look at it already was suppose to call me as a result of my phone call to Toyota the dealership never did call me back. I talked to Toyota’s part counter about the missing weather seal for the front edge of my driver & passenger doors, the parts counter said 22’ Tundra should have it already according to my VIN. Anyway this Gen 3 Tundra convinced me to buy an old school Gen 5 4Runner.

My 22 tundra is terrible for the hesitation. Seems to be the worst when the trans is not up to operating temp yet. And on top of that, if you dont come to a complete stop(if a red light changes to green as you approach) and want to accelerate it takes a couple seconds before it wants to go vs if you come to a complete stop(like at a red light). There are so many other things that irritate me with this truck that makes me want to get out of the lease early and into something else.

I'm slowly but surely leaning towardd a chevy hd 2500 with the 6.6 gas engine when I retire my '08 tundra. None of the cyl. deactivation problems as the 5.3 and 6.2 engines in their half-tons.

Isnt that amazing, considering how Toyota is said to be the gold standard for reliability and all the Toyota guys talk about what junk Nissan is! I've been driving Nissan my whole life. My 87 Hardbody still wants to please! 425,000 miles now. Also still have an old Sentra with 360k on original engine. Just looked at the new Frontiers and it's the only compact truck I'd buy. Very nice. My sole complaint is them dropping the manual transmission. Their manuals are so good that my 1987 still shifts like new. Trans has never been out of the truck. In fact Ive never been able to destroy one, even as a teenager abusing my old Datsuns.

@jeanclaude7018 I love nissan trucks! They aren't compact though. Compact trucks are unibody construction, such as, Honda Ridgeline, Ford maverick, hyundai Santa fe. The nissan frontier is a midsize truck. It is a body on frame construction. Nissan knocked it out of the park with the new frontier! Butter smooth 9 speed transmission, designed by Mercedes (9-G TRONIC). it's very comfortable! My wife is going to pick one up too. Mine is fully loaded and I paid $39,999 plus tax and tags.

@@All-Miles-Matter Yes, I understand, but definitions have changed. My 1987 Hardbody is compact by today's standards, and there definitely is a frame under there. I checked when I replaced the 30 year old shocks this fall. A Maverick is actually bulkier than my truck when I park next to one. Everything is getting super-sized again, like 1958 all over again. The average construction jock truck at Home Depot has bedrails that are the same height as my truck's roof! I just meant "compact" in relation to the MASSIVE full size beasts out there. I guess midsized is more accurate. I measured the new Frontier at the dealer next to my truck. It's about 5 inches wider. But oddly, the windshields measured almost the same. It seems the bulk of the difference is in thicker doors and those cool fender bulges and tires much meatier than mine. Inside, the ergonomics of distance to steering wheel and door panels seemed not too different from my old truck. I read that Nissan noted that it's customers did not want the Frontier to get too big. That's the impression I got sitting in them. At any rate, very nice redesign. I hear the test channels griping about the supposedly heavy steering, but no actual owners seem to mind. I was sitting in those Frontiers wanting to grab a stick shift though. I'm addicted to gears after 30 years of my old truck. Apparently there's no way to option the 6 speed now. Too had because most Nissan manuals are basically lifetime components. The Titan Platinum down there was an amazing beast too. I can't afford the gas, but why don't people buy those things? I like them far better than the ugly Tundra or the big 3. Now, if I could get a Titan true 3/4 ton with a straight 6 Cummins...a dream truck for me.

2023 TRD Sport here - had recall for emergency brake, had minor issue if lumbar support was only when at half support of back would click if leaned in (about 185 lb and 5’11’’. They fixed both and to my surprise rotated the tires and told me my aftermarket wheel locks were wearing against rim oddly (have toyos on it for New England weather). Love my truck so far - only gripe is 10 minute auto start restriction and paying for that is complete trash and I thought writing a check for 60k was enough…. I skipped lunch or brought for many years to save so it’s minor unless every dollar counts. Have owned f150 w 8 foot bed, dodge Dakota, Chevy, and even a 72 gmc… only regret is she’s a big girl and parking spots keep getting smaller - wish I got power mirrors but did not..

Tire issue: taking corners too fast. The tire compound is likely softer than most, like a duratrac and results in what appears to be excessive wear. I’ve been down this road.
