This account helped me turn an “everything-reactive” owner surrendered 8mo old puppy into a rock steady 3yr old dog. He’s now the pride of the school bus stop, great on leash, and friendly to dogs of all sizes and breeds.

Our doberman has been home for 4 weeks with us. We got her at 15 weeks old. The breeder was great, they had 4 kids and the dog was around them all the time and transition so well with my kids. She doesn't care about all the things kids do. She is extremely well tempered. She's a goof ball and just wants to have fun. We've met several dogs on the regular and just had her our at my kids birthday party with tons and tons of kids and people. She did so well. We put her away during food and presents tho lol otherwise that would have been to much. Got her out after and she was great. She has that doberman curiosity and is watching and barking at many things outside of the yard. She stops and stares at people on walks, but absolutely loves everyone. I'm so glad we got her. Her temperament is gold.

As a service dog owner- if your dog is behaved, under control, and you keep your distance from my dog, and you respect the store and be honest and not lie when asked I could care less! It's people who fake service dogs and let their dog misbehave and distract my service dog I have an issue with! ❤

I took my doberman (European) to college classes with me. I was very fortunate to have agreeable professors who did not mind his presence in class. Rommel loved going to class! He went everywhere with me, and was, as my friends said, "bulletproof." Very calm, loved everyone. A real people dog, except with people he did not know. He would not leave my side until he was comfortable. Then he turned back into the goofy, loving dog he was. Great dog, I still miss him to this day.

Thank you for the time and conscientiousness of your information. One week in on a 4.5 month old female; vet tomorrow for her intro file, large breed puppy academy Thursday. Having taken 3 years before making the commitment, I knew patience, routines, exposure, and loving encouragement would be a good start. Slowly, we're overcoming apprehension of routine walks on our street, but she was very calm and curious about a car ride earlier today, with a stop at my besties shop for socialization.

Just adopted Otto (my dobie) from the humane society. He was terrified of pretty much everything. It's clear that there was some abuse in his past. Well he's 2yo and we've had him for about a month. He's coming around very slowly but improvements include; he's less afraid of doors. He doesn't pee when he gets startled or scared. Walks have been okay but still I need to basically force him to walk in or out of my front door. I suppose with time it'll get better🤷♂️ regardless of any of his little quarks, he's in a very patient and loving home❤

First dog my Dobie met was a chunky Lab with melo personality. Of course she put up the barking defense and then the other dog gave her a shut up bark back at her. She ran back to realize this other dog is tough too but before I could help her realize it’s freindly the other dog was put in the trailer home that came and brought her. I maybe should’ve put a muzzle on my dog until it knew not to be afraid of the new dog. My Dobie does wear her muzzle well for a short time is all I ever use it and it seems to help her that a mouth is not necessary in these times as well as playing and getting rough. She’s two years old in six days so her puppy days are slowly coming to an end. My Dobie gets corrected she knows when I say be nice she’s like a cat and comes over and rubs herself on your leg nose to tail twice as if she’s saying ok I forgot! She never lets you idol as her nose will give you that boop once or twice as if to say come on what’s next!

Can you do more videos for the few that rescued/ adopted a dobie. I rescued mine at 6-7 months so socializing is harder when she's not a tiny little dog you can put in your cart. And there are other things specific to getting an older dobie
@DobermanPlanet5 ай бұрын
There are some video ideas on our list to do, but more footage/people willing to talk about their rescue experience is needed so that we can share first hand accounts with people. If you're willing to chip in, please reach out to us via Instagram or Facebook!

Hey Doberman 🌎 I’m a owner of 2 Dobermans Liberty & Justice they’re 4 months now I watch all your videos for help with everything Doberman thank you for your hard work and dedication for making awesome videos ❤ I was wondering if you could make a video on how to deal with people when your training out in public when I go out with my Dobermans everybody want to come up and pet them and talk when I’m just trying to train lol so I just got them training vest with patches that say in training don’t pet also a shirt that says in training give us space lol and I still end up telling people politely that we’re in training and then they usually leave us alone anything else to do ? Thanks ❤

How would you train a dog to not be afraid of gun fire.? I would like a dog that I can take to the range with me but I don’t want a gun shy dog.

I don't have any trusted dogs in my neighbourhood, not even my parents' dachshunds. I've been considering doing puppy classes with my future Doberman, or hiring a personal trainer to help with this. Thoughts on this?

How would you suggest introducing an older dobe to new family members as we live in different states and i have a new granddaughter she will eventually meet
@killthebunny19945 ай бұрын
If it has been socialized properly, then you should not have a single issue. On our third set of Doberman's and they are the last dogs I worry about aggression. I worry 10x more about my daughter's little Mal-shi than I ever had with one of the Dobies.
@DobermanPlanet5 ай бұрын
Great question! Do it slowly and give the new family member some treats to give to your dog. Tell them to talk quietly and give lots of positive words and pets to make friends quickly!

My 1.5 year old Coto experienced her first automatic car wash the other day. Freaked her right out. She almost blacked my eye with her nose. She has always gone everywhere with me except for work. Best Dogs Ever.
@Keith-zn4vq5 ай бұрын
Aww poor baby. Ya oughta take her through the carwash few more times to get her used to it. I have a doberman to and she was dumped and abandoned starved and abused by her previous owner and I've had her for a year now and even now she still has trouble getting in the truck because she thinks she's gonna get dumped again. If you were wondering her name is Heidi and she's a house dog to boot.

The biggest issue i have with ours is when she goes on walks and she sees a rabit, squirl, or another dog, it's all chaos. When shes being walked shes in a totally different state. Total guard mode. Doesnt even respond to treats.

We took our to puppy socialising class run by the Vets. The only issue was that all the other puppies came to our Dobermann's navel. Thankfully, she was a gentle giant and happily played with the other puppies. Always think take your dobie out as much as possible when you go out is a great way of socialising them. Our dobie 9 months old now.

Haha can just imagine all the other smaller dogs in the room! Kudos to you for socializing her so well!
@pappystern29555 ай бұрын
Good advice as always. However, I think you missed an opportunity to remind viewers that they should be extremely cautious during the parvo period. You should never take your dog out anywhere during that critical time when the Dobermans are susceptible to catching parvo until they are fully vaccinated. Then by all means go out and socialize your Dobermans 👍

Had a bad experience at dog park when doby 8 mo. Old. Actually it was a woman who got mad cause my girl chased a ball she was throwing for her dog. She kicked my doberman in the face and chest screaming at her. Most upsetting for us both. We don't do dog parks.
@Stephanieforbeshamilton5 ай бұрын
That's terrible... your poor puppy. Just think, if that woman was willing to be cruel to your baby god only knows how she treats her own dog behind closed doors. Hope your baby was OK and still loves going out and about. ❤
@DobermanPlanet5 ай бұрын
Oh my!! How terrible! That is an awful experience. You sure can't control other people. If she'd do that to a dog in public, just imagine what her poor dog goes through on a day-to-day basis in private...sad!

Hmm...I wonder why yours was difficult. Mine has been a dream. I almost don't even need too as she is just great with kids and adults and dogs. I believe it's because our breeder had kids and dogs etc... But I will still socialize because she's still a puppy and things can change. I will always socialize her. We take her to my kids school when dropping off and picking up etc. I want to do a lot with her.
