I assembled one for a friend. I was very impressed with the quality of the kit. We added air conditioning, power windows, hard top, windshield wipers, remote start with alarm, remote entry ( no handles ), touch screen radio, cd, blue tooth, navigation with a back up camera, hidden LED backup lights, Rockford Fosgate amp, subs and high end speakers. Turned out so nice that l forget sometimes that l assembled it. Maybe someday I can assemble one for myself. Owner went with a 351 dressed up inside and out, TCI trans and 8.8 rear end. It will move.

18:41 Question - Aluminium to steel riveting, they are dissimilar metals and are subject to considerable galvanic corrosion being wet from rain, road grime (salted roads) and even humid hot days. Wouldn't the better choice have been zincanneal sheet and spot weld them to the frame THEN paint the frame?

In case I was the last to know, open wheels are NOT legal in America. You MUST have fenders of a sort that prevents rocks and other debris from being thrown by the tire tread. FMCSR part 387. Thanks, JD
@ghostup101 Жыл бұрын
@Abe Adams you’re wrong. The Plymouth Prowler does have fenders in the rear and front of the vehicle. They may be small but they are there. Any vehicle without fenders is considered illegal to be driven on public roads. Although you may own one without fenders and have it in your personal collection.

4 years latter- A real benefit of these kits is the possibility of a very cheap and practical A to B vehicles by going the low hp route, AKA some of the light vehicles out of the UK using motor cycle engines. Being built for larger engines may give them a large safety buffer over the lighter vehicles when smaller engines are fitted.

Ever Price a Factory 5 kit car ? You need about $30 ,000 just to get started . I would use a Lincoln mark Viii For the Donor car but still it would cost around $25,000. for that much money you could just buy a used HO mustang or dodge hellcat . 345 HP for a $10,000 Motor is no bargain . You have 20 Guys and a $200, 000 dollar shop and I could slam one out too !
