4:47, vertical lumber storage... look like pocket holes were going from the inside out to the edge. Shouldn’t the pocket holes gone from the outside pointing in to the meat of the board?
@YouCanMakeThisToo4 жыл бұрын
They were going down into the bottom board. It would be stronger for the bottom to be set between the sides and through the bottom to the sides. Then the forces are against acting the shear strength of the screws instead of the thread bite. But both ways are plenty strong and this was faster.

Looks good, I especially your ride. How much lumber can you fit on that thing? Honestly, having two people working together I think makes it at least 3 times faster. (as long as you are actually working and not chit chatting like I always end up doing, lol)

We carried all the plywood for this project on that ride, it's amazing. Haha yeah, keeping the BS down is pretty important to actually being productive.. there was a good bit of both.

So cool how by the time on the video it shows drawers and what your doing at the moment each section says something different exactly what your doing in the video i noticed you also put that info in the description do you only need to add it to description for it to show up next to the time in the video? how do you do that? i have noticed that on several videos Caleb @YouCanMakeThisToo

I love that feature! It's new, it's called chapter. Scroll down in the description and you'll see the timecode list. So long as it's starts with 0:00 it'll do that automatically.
@AntonioClaudioMichael4 жыл бұрын
@@YouCanMakeThisToo that is so cool so all you have to do is type it out in the description like you did and it activates chapter scroll?

I'm sure there's an easy answer, but why did you guys inset the back of the cabinets so far on the base? Did that support the counter top more evenly?
@YouCanMakeThisToo4 жыл бұрын
Great question! There’s a few factors. The counter depth is set by what’s needed to support the widest the saw can cut. The cabinet depth was set to conserve material. The base was oversized for simplicity. Then the cabinets came away from the wall as far as they needed to meet the front of the counter top. Hope that answers the question.

Man I hate doing this because nobody likes the fun police, but please take care of yourselves so you can keep working in the craft for a long time to come. I didn't see any ear protection at all (a personal pet peeve of mine, because I have tinnitus) and your buddy didn't wear eye protection even once that we saw in the video. I have very few rules in my shop but #1 is safety. Nobody comes in without shoes on, and everyone wears eye protection at all times no matter what we're doing. Ear protection is added if we're using power tools, and dust masks too when appropriate.
@YouCanMakeThisToo4 жыл бұрын
Great points, your rules are pretty similar to my rules. But everyone runs their shop differently. Ultimately, it's a personal choice.

So what height do you recommend for someone 5'6" like me?
@YouCanMakeThisToo4 жыл бұрын
Mine are around 35" It depends on what kind of work you're going to do be doing though. If it's a miter station, I'd recommend about elbow height or similar to your other machines to make it easy to move it around.
