So odds are you have seen DALL-E and other AI generation tools and the really cool things that they can create. Today I want to do a deeper dive on an idea that I had in a previous video about using these AI image generation tools for a stock image SaaS/service.

One time I built a stock photo business around letting people sell photos from their phone. My first customer was a lawyer from Getty images... Needless to say I shut it down. With this, you wouldn't need property or model releases. It almost sounds too good to be true. I would probably make a huge keyword generator and millions of images, then charge $10/mo for unlimited downloads. Either that or micro payments for like $0.25 per image. Great find BTW

Interesting idea, but what prevents a potential customer from going to dalle's website and generate the images themselves? What value does this potential startup provide?

Seems like a good idea, but why would the marketing agencies buy the images from you instead of going straight to DALL-E? Right now there is still a small barrier to entry into these tools, but I think this stock image market will quickly fade away as the technology spreads and more companies start offering AI-generated images at virtually zero cost. The current business model of reselling images seems unsustainable and may only last for very high-quality or realistic photos that cannot be generated with AI.

Right - this idea is to basically be a 'wrapper' around DALL-E or another image generator. Agencies don't want to go mess with generators, they just want to grab images easily. They might not even be able to describe what they want (but will know when they see it) If you can gen 1000s of images in a particular niche and sell access as a subscription, that would be worth the $20/mo or whatever you charge for the ease of not having to fiddle with the inputs on image generators. In the end, as long as you make it easier for your customers to get what they need, they will continue to pay you - even if they could do it themselves for free.

Well the first person to figure it out makes all the $$$ ;P I think setting it up initially as a simple 'ecom'-like store might be easiest. Maybe with webflow and just sell the images one off (or do a subscription). The pitching is the easiest part IMO. Google 'construction marketing agency' and go through the list and send em an email offering free/cheap images compared to iStock or wherever they get their images now. Plus custom images for their clients.

I don't think anyone can prove you made the photo in the AI, because you can't generate the same item even with the same prompts and seed

Even if you can prove it is made with AI, its 100% legal to sell them according the Dall-E TOS.

Why do you say that? It always depends on what you implement. That kind of API's is created for let people build application on top of that. He's giving you an general idea not the final solutions. Just shape that and turn it in another stuff
