so thyristor conduct by a pulse in the gate from the pick up coil but unlike transistor it keeps conducting ohh okay i guess i got it! the capacitor in series so when thyristor conduct the cap charge up and block current then thyristor disconnect so the capacitor then discharge into the coil? correct me if I’m wrong

However, if you have access to the components, you should test them with a multimeter to identify which ones are faulty. Typically, diodes and thyristors are the most common parts to fail, Since your engine uses a permanent magnet in the flywheel to generate alternating current and has a single trigger, it is likely possible to power each cylinder with a separate CDI unit, To do this, you can install your existing CDI (if it still sparks one cylinder) and connect a single AC CDI unit to the ignition coil of the other cylinder. Then test the result, A 5- or 6-pin ac CDI unit, similar to the ones I’ve built, would be suitable for your engine, Additionally, I have a tutorial on how to build and wire such a CDI unit on my channel. check it out if you're interested.
