Luke, you have inspired to create my own dioramas. I am reminded of that with every video, because I have the exact same tools/brands as you: 3D-printer, wash & cure, laser cutter, resin, varnish, airbrush, paints... But I'm proud to say I beat you to it when it comes to using UV resin as glue! Haha. But seriously, thank you for being an inspiration. This hobby changed my life for the better.

it would be fantastic for people who assemble models frequently this way to have a high powered UV light attached to a mic arm or another adjustable fixture, and a foot pedal. Would free up the hand holding the light and speed up the process a lot.

please note you need a Co2 laser to cut clear acrylic. a diode laser needs black or coloured acrylic.. it will not cut clear.. cool video :) and if you are using resin at any point you should always wet sand.. you do not want to breathing in the dust.. it will mess with your lungs.. your lungs are life.. do not abuse them :)

Polystyrene sheet is as easy to use as acrylic and much cheaper. It is easy to glue, sand, paint and can also be cut with an Xacto knife easily. Which reminds me that I have to buy a lot of sheets for my Springfield diorama 😁

Wow, looks like the show changed things up a bit somewhere down the line! I always remember the hedge serving as fence for the side yard between the two properties. That hedge even has a famous meme called "Homer disappears into hedge"

@@heroicnonsense typically don't use files, I cut and grind my art making 1/300+ scale in a Ed Roth ratfink sorta way like my tank or currently an iowaclass Battleship. Sure be nice to print a file though, just gotta invest in a metal printer. 😉 Edit: Forgot to tell you they have functional cannons. 😃

You can harden the resin even faster by using a "blue" chinese-laserpointer. Typically they have ~5mW at 470mW (blue) but ~50 mW at 350 nm. 8)

That looks fantastic! I’m curious about something. Why didn’t you assemble with cleats on the inside of the model? You could have cut them from the scrap from the laser cutter and you wouldn’t have had so many external seems to fill and sand?

In episode S05E16 "Homer Loves Flanders" when Homer emerges out of a hedge, we can clearly see that it lines Ned's driveway adjacent to the Simpson's fence-line. Yet here that hedge is missing. I mean, what are we to believe, that this is a magic hedge or something? Boy, I really hope somebody got fired for that blunder.

Luke just wanted to notice that tv antennas in real world need to be oriented in the same direction (to the source antenna). Not a criticism but pointing it out only because we know you are super consistent to very small details. Not sure how they were drawn in the show. Great build!

The house to the right has been occupied by numerous owners in different episodes including Mr. and Mrs. Winfield, Ruth and Laura Powers, Sideshow Bob, and the extended Flanders family.
