Needless to say that the differences for the drivers cabin are quite small and the biggest difference was a new enhanced diesel engine

Another inspiring model you created here. And combining it with an obstacle course is, in my mind, borderline genius. Did you film the opening sequenze outside? The foliage seemed to move a lot. Where the forklift segments stop motion or is he powered as well? The first looked like it is powered, the second appearnce hinted at stop motion 😳 And a big thank you to you and the wife (?) for going the extra mile, making the sponsored segment more engaging and humourus
@BoulderCreekRailroad
@BoulderCreekRailroad 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Martin, yeah it was filmed outside and it was a tad windy 😃 the wind was coming in waves and I did my best to film each time the wind died down but those trees are tiny and the slightest bit of wind looks like gale force wind! The fork lift was stop motion, it would be cool to make it powered but there isn't much space in those forklifts! Also thanks for appreciating the sponsored segment, I know most people don't like them so I tried to make it a little entertaining to watch 😃

I didn't know how fascinating this was until I watched it all the way through. I can't believe how much I learned. I had some ideas along the way. For example, depending on the scene, building in some general purpose wiring could be used to add street lights, illuminated signs and buildings, a motorized raising-bridge, a working windmill, lights through a tunnel, etc. Another idea with respect to the river, you could add stuff like little fish (install them on little pins and they'll keep their depth while pouring the resin), old tires, or a lost shopping cart or barrel, an abandoned submerged car, a little boat at a dock, etc. Using a small pump, I suppose one could even create a real running river, maybe even with a small waterfall or working paddlewheel. Wouldn't it also be very fun to add a tiny wifi video camera to the vehicle and to record that while driving from the vehicle's perspective. Put up a green screen behind it and you could add a real sky to the video. Turn on the vehicle headlights and the lights on the scenery and go for a night drive.

The best takeaway from this video is that it shows Luke using some different methods of doing his usual project steps - painting river bed with brushes, static grass with spray adhesive, etc.. to achieve similar effects. This is the sort of project you can do to practice or trial various techniques before trying it on a bigger build - especially if it will be a "best to get it right the first time" situation. Luke - As you have now revealed you are a pilot, how about an outback airport scene for your next build?

3M Super 77 is foam safe, it's a little more expensive though!

I've wanted to do a moon diorama for a while... It's in my list of future projects 😉 I just need a good lunar lander model

*Excellent, the course is a real challenge for these tiny RC vehicles! Even the trees are shacking! 😁 Very good idea, the amount of preparation work must had to be so huge ... 👏👏👏👏*

You should add HO faller cars to your HO layouts plus you can program them to do what ever you want them to do.

OMG I love it! :') When I was 8 years old my Christmas present was a little rc truck, it had Hot-wheel tracks and I used to drive it there. A dream come true. Over time it stopped working and I only left it as a collection but moving house made me lose it. Yet wonderful memories you have brought back. Thank you!

Thanks Matt, I have a 4WD ute but don't do much 4WD'ing, nothing challenging... Maybe 2021 could be the year I actually do some proper driving 😃

Just about when we think you couldn't possibly step up your game, you give us this video. If there was ever a time I would buy Nord VPN based on a You tube commercial, this is it! Great work!

To help mask areas on miniatures you could use liquid latex or latex masking fluid (the kind they use for painting nails or the kind they use for watercolor)
