Thank you for actually telling us the measurement details in the video! too many DIY vids just timelapse the work and then say to find the measurements go to a link somewhere that usually breaks over time.

Nice job I've been wondering how to store my canoe and kayak outside and this solves the problem . Thanks 👍

Garden timbers are cheaper than the stair rail and they are thicker too

That's a good idea too. Those would make it look more like that photo. Thanks for watching!

Here is a thought, go inside the shed and add a sister stud to the wall stud that are holding the kayaks and use wood glue. Other wise the will start to bow because of the weight.

Good suggestion. I already have some cross bracing on the inside for some garden tool holders. That's probably sufficient to hold these light, plastic boats. But if you have a store-bought shed with 2x3 studs, this would be necessary modification.

What kind of weight do you think that'll hold?

Each rack set should hold at least 150lbs which is more than enough for these plastic boats.

Nice job Sir, and nice shed. We required a solution that would protect our kayaks from the weather and chewing animals. See our build at Karin and Larry at Home. Take care, Larry
