Really great video, damn, wish I subscribed to this channel sooner! I will add one more thing (my opine of course) my dad used to tell me: "If you love what you do, and take pride in your work, it will show in how you present yourself and your work. The rest will follow." He had his business for 35 years before retiring, using his passion when talking with customers to bring in business. Great stuff, Phil!

Loving this new channel! When customers drop off their vehicle at your garage do they Uber back home? or do you give them a loaner vehicle?
@thedetailingworkshop26893 жыл бұрын
I was looking into using my Avalon as a loaner vehicle but my insurance wouldn't cover it, I'm trying to figure it out with insurance. Usually they just have friend or family member pick them up, sometimes they uber also.

I’m like what’s up bro and that car was F ing dirty that’s why it took long or if you took take care of your vehicle since day one they paint wouldn’t be so faded lol jk but I feel that I speak on behalf of a lot of detailers when they think about this and they are watching there tongue on what to say and sound professional but in reality you talk totally different.
@Erix78102 жыл бұрын
Way too much talking and detailer jargon used in your phone call example. I'd confuse and lose most of my mom customers if I spoke that way. Also, you dont want to pull out the extractor because it would saturate the seats and maybe introduce mold? Doesn't make you sound like you now what you're doing.
@MirandaDetailing2 жыл бұрын
Interesting…”your moms customer’s”…..it’s ok…you don’t have to do or say anything you don’t want to. But in our case, and all the other detailers we train and talk to, this is what gets them the customer they want. The ones that get confused,,,,we certainly don’t want. So it’s about talking so as to get the customers one wants. Curious….what exactly would you say? Could you give an example of what works for you?
@Erix78102 жыл бұрын
@@MirandaDetailing What I meant was, customers of mine who are mothers. Meaning Town and Country, Yukon, Traverse drivers. They are customers who pay me well for interior and AIO packages. I explain to them the RESULTS they'll have, not the PROCESS. They would be lost if I started peppering them with words like 'extraction', 'decon', 'spray sealant'. They want their interior clean and smelling good, and their vehicle shiny. I dont offer AIO as an option, its just part of the package. Customer happy 100% of the time. How often are you able to 'upsell' an AIO to a mother of three for her Yukon? basically never. I'm expensive in my area, but my customers have one refrain, "you get what you pay for with him". I hardly ever 'explain' my AIO, I just do it and customers love it.
@thedetailingworkshop26892 жыл бұрын
That's totally fine and good for you. But I train people to talk properly and educate customers. I don't want customers who don't care about what I have to say or teach them. In fact the customers we used to get that didn't need me to explain anything, are long gone....and I don't want them back. I want customers who love their cars and love to talk about them and be educated on them. I guess for us our business has evolved into gaining the right types of customers that we want. I have found that when I don't explain the what, what, how, and so on about our processes we run into issues when the customer now nit picks about things, Those issues are now avoided because of how we talk to the customer. But I totally understand if you have a good thing going for you, then keep on doing it.

There are a lot of people that do just want a cheap job and think the price is too much. Do you keep your cell phone and business line separate ? Do you ever get scam/robo callers on the business line
@thedetailingworkshop26893 жыл бұрын
I have one cell and one number, I don't worry about splitting lines. I get those robocalls callers all the time, I hate them. But Verizon filters most out anyway.
