Definitely 8 ohm speaker, the bridged TDA2030A works well ONLY with 8 ohm speaker, I forgot that to mention in the video. The size does not matter, should be bigger than 3 inch and higher power value than 30 watts.

@@Helectronics oops! I have an old 5.1 speaker System lying arround which utilises one TDA2030 for every speaker except the woofer. It's also connected in bridge mode but they used just a 25W 8Ohm speaker 😱 but I think the heatsink is way too small for seven TDAs, so what?! 🤪
@Helectronics3 жыл бұрын
If it's crazy but it works, then why not! Manufacturers like to use components which are used to their limits so after a year or two the product will break so the consumer will have to buy a new one.
@thomasr.54433 жыл бұрын
@@Helectronics you're absolutely right! I plan to make a little guitar amp from the case and some of the components. I also plan to do it with a dual TDA2030 in bridge config so the sink should suit just fine with 5 TDAs less than original. It looks yours quite similar.
@Helectronics3 жыл бұрын
You can use the bridged TDA2030 circuit as guitar amp, with that heatsink it won't get too hot, just don't forget to use 8ohm speaker!

Very nice Video, thank you. I am not sure but I think biasing is not needed when using a symmetrical power supply because the input audio signal alternates around ground allready.

Thank you for watching, if you mean the input biasing resistor, it is necessary, otherwise the circuit starts to oscillate.

Hi Sir, Could you please mention formula how to produce gain 24db as mentioned in your demonstration and as well in datasheet.
@Helectronics4 жыл бұрын
Hi, if you are watching the TDA2030A datasheet, the R1 and R2 resistors set the gain of the amplifier. The formula is R1/R2+1 so to get exactly 24db gain you have to use 23kΩ for R1 and 1kΩ for R2, so 23000/1000+1=24. Thanks for watching!

What should be the size of heatsink for two tda2030A ics mounted on same heatsink ? (In length and width)
@Helectronics4 жыл бұрын
Hi, depends on what kind of speaker you want to use (4 or 8 ohm), also if you want to use a single or bridged configuration. I've made a huge mistake in this video, this bridged configuration only works with 8 ohm speaker and I've connected a 4 ohm, which makes the amp ICs to heat up really high. Thank you for watching!

You don't need big heatsink, I saw TDA2030A permade circuits with approx 5x5 cm of heatsink (or even smaller), so if you use both with approx. 12x6 cm (bigger is better) that has to work well.

Can C4, C5, R3, R4, R5, R6 and R7 network be applied to TDA1514 and TDA7293?
@Helectronics4 жыл бұрын
I've found on the google bridged circuit diagrams of TDA1514 but it's not mentioned in the datasheet, anyways if you want to try it out 8 ohm speaker must be used, less then that can burn the IC! In the TDA7293 datasheet, it is mentioned the Bridge Application, quote: "Another application suggestion is the BRIDGE configuration, where two TDA7293 are used. In this application, the value of the load must not be lower than 8 Ohm for dissipation and current capability reasons. A suitable field of application includes HI-FI/TV subwoofers realizations. The main advantages offered by this solution are: - High power performances with limited supply voltage level. - Considerably high output power even with high load values (i.e. 16 Ohm). With Rl= 8 Ohm, Vs = ±25V the maximum output power obtainable is 150 W, while with Rl=16 Ohm, Vs = ±40V the maximum Pout is 200 W."

To answer to your question, I don't know if the exact circuit and component values would work with those ICs, it's different for almost every IC. The only way is to test them on a breadboard.

The capacitor is placed between the output of the first amp (pin 4) and the speaker. The positive lead of the cap goes to the pin 4 and the negative to the speaker's positive lead. It is not obligatory to use there capacitor but at the output I've measured Direct Current(DC) with the oscilloscope, and that's why I had to use capacitor. DC is harmful for the speakers. BTW please don't call me sir, I'm just 26 years old haha.

I am making the same circuit right now. Good audio qaulity. Could you help me getting the wattage rms? I am using oscilloscope.
@Helectronics6 жыл бұрын
Okay, what kind of help would you need? First you will need a power resistor, 4 or 8 ohm, depending on what kind of speaker you want to connect to. Then you will need a sine wave source (signal generator, oscilloscope, phone application) and turn up the volume until it starts to clip the top of the sine wave. Then you will read the RMS voltage (before clipping), square that value and then divide it by the speaker's resistance value (4 or 8). Good luck with the build!
@fretlessbass67876 жыл бұрын
Helectronics so basically, i have done all what you said with a dummy load 8 ohms since my speaker is 8 ohms. My input was 1khz with .5V amplitude, using an AF generator. But im having a problem since my amplifier will give a distorted signal. I want to clarify if it is more than 30W since our professor requires 30+ watts. The website where i found this tda2030 bridge subwoofer said it was 35 watts. Can you help me prove this power?
@Helectronics6 жыл бұрын
Are you shure that you've done everything correctly? Did you built it on a breadboard? Also, the grounding is very important. What kind of power supply do you use for your amplifier? Single rail or dual rail, also the voltage.

Helectronics its on a pcb sir, my power supply is a center tap transformer with 15 0 15 v.

If it has big enough capacitors at the power supply (at least 3300uF on each rail and also ceramic capacitors for high frequency noise) than it should work. Check the connections again. I hope the circuit is not faulty.

I have a bridged circuit how To unbridge the circuit
@hellrider156 жыл бұрын
You can make the two bridged ICs into two separate amplifiers (stereo) by taking out the 22K ohm resistor, which is connected between the two amplifiers and at the second amplifier, where the input is connected to signal ground you just connect another signal input instead of ground. Don't forget to hook up two speakers separately to the aplifier outputs and you are done. If this describtion is too complicated please take a look at the datasheet. Thanks for watching!

@Helectronics4 жыл бұрын
@@bhartirasoi2456 That formula is for the split supply simple circuit, this video is about the bridged circuit. The formula for that, if I remember well is like B is the cut-off frequency, R1 is the value of the R1 resistor. In the datasheet of the TDA2003A there is a diagram for the value of the Cx (which has the same purpose as the C8 in the TDA2030A datasheet) and there you can find out the value which is good for your circuit. The best solution is to build the circuit on breadboard and to try with different values of C8 and with an oscilloscope check the frequency response until you get the best result.
