Ha ha ha !!! I thought I was the only one that happened to, as in, I had nearly all the first two sets of spokes in place when one got stuck while installing. You guess it, both rows came undone. Put it down and walked away. Calmer heads prevailed later in and I got both done easier the second time around. Here’s what I did. Once I had the entire first set of spokes in, I put a microscopic drop of WOOD glue on the ends in the outer rim, let it set up, that way it held them in place while I added the second set of spokes. Worked for me. I’m on the second day of my first NOT SO EASY wheel assembly. I’m putting the next two sets of spokes in today. I’m not rushing anything and I’m checking everything five times. Like skipping a diamond as you instal the spokes. Ask me why I said I check everything five times. All in all I’m enjoying this build. Even though I’m just starting on the wheel first. I must thank you Wayne for the excellent and very informative videos. Not sure how successful I’d be with the wheel assembly without your help. The only thing I wish, I wish Agora had included a printed version of the assembly manual. Yes I know I can download and print it, but it would be nice just to have . I only have pack one so I’ve got a way to go. You know I’ll be watching.

Another great video Wayne .. those standard/hard versions of the wire wheels do look better than the easy versions .. certainly worth the effort even if you have to do it more than once for each wheel! Come to think of it .. could almost be a Bond film title “You Only Build Twice”😉 I’ll get my coat! Lol 😂 🎤🙌🏻

Yes I have had a wheel fall apart on me. W196 was particularly hard to take 😊

Wayne, I wondered how you made the spoked wheel without the spokes falling out or moving until you admitted at the end that they did and you had to start over again. Having experienced the same thing (twice) I came up with a better way. Before putting in the top two rows of spokes, cut a thin strip of two-faced clear tape and place it around the outer perimeter where the spokes will land. Then, as you place each spoke in place, push the ends into the tape and they will stay where you put them! I also found that when you flip the wheel over for the bottom spokes, use a piece of blue tac instead of a wet paper towel. It does a better job of keeping the spokes from moving.

At this stage which DB5 do you like more? The Goldfinger build or this one? I like things of both that I have seen so far.

WhilenI was putting in the 4th row of spokes one managed to work its way loosening the sealed 1st row. Trying to fix that caused a domino effect.

I found with my 1st "hard" one. The top row, second side, 4th set of spokes going thru 2nd set of diamonds to be the hardest part. Then when It was all closed up, I turned to my better 1/2 and said I really enjoyed that. She said "let me see it". Omg she's interested! She looked at the wheel, flipped it back and forth a couple times and said "It's twisted". Huh? I grabbed it and started looking and sure enough side A spokes were like 4 or 5 degrees off parallel from side B spokes and it was plain to see the spokes going thru all the diamonds at an angle. Why did I not see this? lol. So I popped the center plastic pc. out of the center, Then I started CAREFULLY tugging and twisting the center hub and hoping it didn't go flying all over the room. After about 15 mins of messing with it, I finally got it shifted where it should be (didn't have to risk loosing up screws, whew!!!). Nice and straight. My OCD would not stop until I fixed it. I loved the challenge.

Lolol...I had said that before when he had all of the unfinished models in the plastic storage boxes...lolol Like over $30,000 worth...lolol I just hope their giving him a kickback or something... Wayne at least deserves that for all the publicity he's given to all of the companies...lolol
