Simply put ---- OUTSTANDING !!! It's bold of you to share the design (with improvements). Although I am building a different design (not as heavy duty), I took away many ideas. Thanks My Man ! BTW regarding Safety ... I was cringing a little bit (as I always do in these type videos) as you pushed the wood through the tablesaw. Just a reminder to all viewers, might want to slow down a bit and have a greater use of push sticks, kickback device and blade covers on the tablesaw. Stay safe ! Again thanks.

Thanks Mark for stopping by, the Potting Bench is for everyone. I don't hold on to information, it's useless to me if I don't share that's just me.

I've had this beautiful potting bench on my Etsy wish list for a while now. It's so fun to see you actually build it! Hopefully you will get an order from me in two months or so. Thank you for posting.

Wow! What a pleasant surprise to find you as one of my Etsy viewers now on KZbin. It was my pleasure to make this video, I have had a lot of people ask over the years and now I can point them in the right direction with a video too! No excuses lol for the people that asked. Thank you so much! It means a lot!

You do great work. I have been wanting to build this for over a year. When I followed the link to Chip I don't see where you can print the plans. Can you help me find where to print the plans? Thank you
@BuildwithMooney6 ай бұрын
Thank you very much! Let me look around with the link and see what’s going on. I checked out the link and there is a download area for printable pdf. I printed mine out over 4 years ago.

If you're selling them, how much are they? Do you ship?
@BuildwithMooney10 күн бұрын
I'm not building them anymore, shipping is out of control with rates. The last bench I shopped to the east coast was $1800.00 !!!@!@!! YEAH! No more for me! it was really good for about 4 years, sometimes you have to know when to say when is good enough!

@@jakethesnake9528 Jakethesnake thank you so much and it was my pleasure! This Potting Bench is my baby and in my eyes my favorite video, lol that doesn't matter. The details I wanted to explain for the builder, so when I get a message like yours it's very nice! Thanks again! Jake just so you know I will reply to every single question that fits on this channel. The videos are cool to share for obvious reasons, but I'm 55 retired early enjoying life! I have tons more to share with you and before I go in the ground! Just keeping it real! I'm working on my woodworking journey video to let you guy's know who I am and what I've been through and it's probably not what you think my route lol but it's my story. Talking to you right here with my coffee is what I enjoy the most. Hope to see you around!!!

How much would one like this cost?
@BuildwithMooney4 ай бұрын
If you were to build it yourself you are looking right at $1200.00 for just the materials that I use. This same bench when I first started building it was $500 to build. Crazy prices!

What a beautiful bench! I'm using it as an inspiration for building my own. I'm using a semitransparent Australian Timber Oil finish. Its nice, but you do lose some of the beauty of the real cedar. I see that you used Thompson's Water Sealer Exterior Clear. Does that have any UV protection? Or will the wood turn gray in a year? Do you have any tricks for keeping that clear natural finish without staining?
@BuildwithMooney7 ай бұрын
Thank you so much Mike much appreciated! I do use Thompson’s as you saw and yes it has mildew and UV protection. I also use another product you might have heard of Ready Seal, it’s an oil based product with all of the properties and protection similar to Thompson’s oil. Ready Seal comes in 8 colors that’s why I use it, to give my customers and myself lol more choices. I’ve used several outdoor oils and stains and I absolutely stand by these 2 products. My first potting bench I built near 4 years ago has not greyed out. The secret to out door finishing is take care of the furniture, so many people ignore their garden furniture and it simply gets ruined. Almost EVERY finish on the market is only designed to last 1-3 years before reapplying. This is why I love oil vs film finish, but some people like the look of film over oil so it is what it is. I hope this is a little helpful for you. The biggest secret I have to maintain outdoor furniture is to wipe it down every once in a while and don’t let the dirt build up on it AND don’t leave it in the sprinklers on the daily! Thanks again feel free to reach out if you have any more questions. Good luck with your Potting Bench. I want to make sure I answer you question about clear natural finish without staining would be use an clear oil base product that you already have with the Cabot . John
