You do got this. Hopefully your already done. Hardest thing for most of us is over thinking stuff. I barely started this video right after I just built my larger assembly table for a smaller one car garage type area. Where can I put this or this? Specially on first build or first concept idea, just do it! You may make a new one later but you didn’t lose anything bc you gained a ton of knowledge. Heck, I have a rolling bathroom cabinet in my garage now that works for now as a mitre saw table. Minimal extras needed. Just do it. Don’t look back.

This is a great idea! I have very limited space to work in (my single car garage is my own kitchen and food preservation space- my wife doesn’t let me mess up her’s) and I almost always have to move outdoors to a concrete slab to build something. This will allow me to have a mobile station to replace my adopted picnic table work surface, and have a place (bottom shelf) to wheel all of the tools needed for the project. I have a 12` x 15` collapsible canopy that I use for cover from the elements that this will fit under perfectly. Thanks from a northern yankee with an eastern (farm / vineyard country) Long Island accent which southerners claim is pretty thick too! 😊😊😊

Thanks again for finding the perfect solution! Love the videos…keep them coming buddy!

I built cabinets in a dewalt loyal shop for years and when I got laid off I bought the Hercules radial arm saw biggest one they had out of desperation. I would pit that and the orbital sander and any other Hercules tool I’ve bought against a dewalt any day at 1/3 the price. The only thing I haven’t been impressed with is the durability of the consumables (sandpaper etc) but the tools themselves are solid.

And, I built an infeed table as well that has a maple top, is drilled for 3/4 inch dogs and two wood vise. These tables have been around for decades, with plans available for free from EAA Chapter 1000 which is based at Edwards Air Force Base. He ripped the design off from them.

I love the simplicity of the design and it is exactly something an intermediate or beginner woodworker can make. Love your calm demeanor.

Edit: CattyWampus Love that confession about editing Southern Slang…. I’m from TN and share your struggles. My Martin heritage in Rowan Co. knew you we hold in’ out on us . I’m 65 and agree with your philosophy of function over looks when it comes to the bench you gotta hammer on. I have a few “work boards” very shallow trays that hold individual projects. I rack those up vertically and use them on top of the plain pine 2 x 12 battle scarred top of bench. It adds organization, and the smaller work trays can be cutoff scraps of oak, cherry, walnut, … whatever ya got. Keep up the great work and don’t worry about accent…. Women in Australia go nuts over men with Southern accents. In a jewelry store , one beautiful lady told me she thought the accents sounded “ distinguished and refined” …. I about fell out laughing. It’s all in the eye of the beholder

Catawampus Yes!!! This is exactly what i needed!! I was just talking with my dad yesterday about a workbench in the garage of the house i just bought a few weeks ago and it has sime nice cabinets overhead but no workbench or table to speak of. This exactly what I want!

i like this one. good idea. It never crossed my mind not to put siding all the way around completely makes sense even though it feels like you’re leaving something unfinished financially and weight wise is the smart move.

Cadiwompas 😊 Love the versatility of this workbench! I will be making this for my shop/game room. This will make for great workspace and storage on the lower shelf. Thank you for sharing your wisdom! I am a beginner who feels confident thanks to your videos! May God bless you abundantly!!

That's an awesome table. I like the way you design things for function and ease of building. Perfection is the enemy of good enough to do the job!

Mr. Peech, I’ve built so many workbenches in my 50 years in the Welding & Construction Industry. This my friend is fantastic! I really like the way you set up how you level the bench. Outstanding

This is by far THE best and most clever bench idea and woodwork Tutorial I have come across. Matt, you'd make the best tutor at universities or colleges. I admire how generous, humble, and kind you are to share your ideas with us - woodwork lovers. Great work 👏 👍 👌

Hey, former Kentuckian here, now full-on Texan!! Love this video for many reasons: no annoying music, each step perfectly explained, and high quality video, I have a good size shop with several workbenches, but I love the flexibility of this design to be large or small or somewhere. in between, mobile, and the outfeed around the table saw in the beginning is what sold me!! Most appreciated!

Built this workbench this weekend. Topped with MDF laminated to 1/2” plywood. Soaked the MDF pretty good with Danish oil and it’s curing now. Can’t wait to put it to use!

Catawampus! Being from FL/GA I've used that word my whole life. I'm actually in need of a new work bench and this will be perfect. I threw together a work table a few years ago and I'm seeing all of the things that I didn't think about when I made it. I've been running through my head of all the different ideas. Then, I saw this video. This is what I need. I would add some through drawers right below the top. Drawers that that are connected but pull out from both sides. For me I can see that being very handy. Because of weight, I don't think I would put storage under these except for some shelves. Even if only on 1 side/end. Mostly to hold tools I'm using at the time. Great video and as usual, great build and info. God bless and keep'em comin'.
