Learning is hard, but Stingray made FPV and fly much easier to reach the plane control faster. Thanks for your efforts and sharing.

Great video David. I do miss flying the Stingray. I miss flying RC in general. Things sure have changed in the Basin area since I moved away.

Hey Thomas! Good to hear from you. We had a lot of fun flying back in the day. Are you still flying PPG?

Im still flying PPG. Not nearly as much as Id like to. @@Qromer

I had one similar to this quite a few years back and they were a pretty cool little FPV platform. Thank you for sharing

Just finished mine...should have a maiden video 1-26-25... Did mine in Depron...and cut a second "kit" from 3/16" foam board..HUGE weight difference between the two...the Depron version RTF weight(less battery)is less than the foam board weight before any glue or electronics....just a fyi....

Awesome FPV platform, do you think adding a control surface to the rudder will be effective ? Would be fun to knife edge this thing..

Great video. Great looking Delta Wing. I have a very old computer, and am not able to view, or down load your building information. Can you do me a " Big " favor and give me the Exterior Dimensions of the wing. I'm thinking about going with an EDF on this one. Let me know please. THANKS.
@Qromer8 ай бұрын
The PDF files should pull up in your browser -- they are the full and actual dimensions. The back end of the wing is 30 inches long and the length of the body from nose to the tip of the tail is 30 inches.

What size carbon fiber are you using? Tube or rods?
@QromerАй бұрын
I have used both tube and rods, but on this one I use 1 x 4 mm flat carbon. I really like it.
@lindawise6351Ай бұрын
@@Qromer So I could use some 3mm x 3mm square i have lying around? It is hollow.

What is your AUW with all the fpv stuff included?
@QromerАй бұрын
The AUW with all FPV gear is 24 oz of freedom or 680 grams if you like metric.

where's the CG on this wing?
@Qromer9 күн бұрын
I talk about it at 2:09 in the video. It is a long chord so anywhere between 7-9 inches from the leading edge will work. 8 inches is a good starting point and move it back slightly until you are comfortable.

How is the efficiency compared to a normal plane? Does the battery last as long as it would on a similar weight aircraft with wings and a tail? It seems to flutter a little in role. Do you think a wider wingspan would help stabilize the role?
@Qromer10 ай бұрын
This plane is more stable than a traditional long wing plane. It can also be flown slower than planes of similar weight. If you have never flown a delta wing plane then it is hard to describe. The stall is simply a nod forward -- no tip stalls. The flutter you see in this video is the fact that it was quite windy. This plane actually does better in high wind than traditional planes. As for the flight time.... it can pull up to 30A at full static ground testing and with a 2200mAh 3S pack we get about 9 - 10 minutes flight times. This is similar to any plane pulling that amp draw.
