So happy to hear you went with donor milk. A lot of people don't even think of it as an option. I have exclusively pumped for 8 months now because my girl has a medical condition and I have had an oversupply from it since the beginning. I have donated 5000 ounces to babies in need in my community and in the last 2 months alone donated 1500 ounces to a company that turns my milks into milk fortifier for micro and preemie baby's. I have to say though that I get blood work and a physical done every 4 months so make sure you get milk from someone you trust. Also, not sure if you know but our prolactin levels are higher between 1am to 5am so that's when we produce more milk. This is the time that I always make sure to never miss a pump.

When my twins were in the NICU they received donor milk for the first week, I was so grateful! Unfortunately, with them being there and me having postpartum preeclampsia my milk supply never established and they are mostly formula fed now.

I should have mentioned this too! I guess because it’s already a daily thing for me to drink well over 100 oz of water, it wasn’t necessarily something I changed to increase my supply. This is a great tip!!

I also found the best time to pump is 330/4am I could easily get 6oz as long as the little piglet didn't need it for a growth spurt! It might be a bit much but nursing and then pumping right after also increases supply and you might get a half ounce-an ounce each session.

A wee suggestion re donor milk: Perhaps use some of the donor milk on days you're working, so that the babies can have your milk while you're away. The taste and smell are unique to each individual, and you may want the babes to have the most familiar stuff when you're away for the longer period of time. That way you can also make sure they'll accept the donor milk.

North Texas weather is like, “Fall? What’s that?” My sister and I took a trip to Salem, Massachusetts 2 years ago in October. When we left Salem, it was in the 30’s, when we landed in Texas (in our hoodies all warm and cozy), it was in the 90’s! You never know what Texas weather will bring, but I do know it brings way more summer than anything😒

I'm in Wisconsin and up until Monday we were going through a second summer of sorts. It seems without fail every year we will get a taste of fall around Labor Day and then we will get a week or so of summer weather in the middle of September. Last week we were in the 80s every day and we had to turn the air back on. Thankfully we are back to fall weather. I love summer but I want my fall weather too.

Power pumping worked great for me. I had to exclusively pump due to my son having lip & tongue ties, and a high squared palette. I also had a terrible supply & was on meds to help me produce more. Power pumping always fixed my problems when my supply would go down. Also, I’m so jealous of your weather. I’m in Alberta, Canada. The weather is terribly cold. Frost every morning & windshields are frozen some mornings. I’ve considered pulling my winter jacket out 😭

My supply dropped drastically here(almost 9 months in), life stresses and working. For my own mental health I decided to start switching to formula instead of trying to stress myself out with increasing my supply, I know how to increase my supply just a personal choice at this point, I feel a lot more like myself during switching over and weaning is sooo hard right now. But he's completely off the breast but still drinking some breastmilk with formula.

Thank you for saying what you said about formula. There is so mommy shaming and not much support for formula moms. In my family we have a genetic disorder that most of the women in my family have not been able to breastfeed so I have been researching for 7 years for the best formula out there and have come across two European brands that have a higher safety standard than in America. i heard about it when I was living in the UK and I think I will try it when my kid's are born. Of course, you have to be willing to change out if it isn't working for your baby and from personal experience sometime nothing will work. I was born with severe allergies to everything including breastmilk from a donor. They even tried meat based formula. I went from a healthy 9 pound baby to 3 pounds before my great-grandmother and mom decided to sneak mushed bananas and water together in the NICU and feed that to me that I got better and started gaining back weight. Anywho, I lived on that for the first 3 years until they were able to add other items in my diet without me having a reaction. I say that to say I believe whatever you feed your baby to keep them alive and healthy is best if not then I would not be here today. gimmethegoodstuff.org/hipp-versus-holle-which-european-infant-formula-is-healthier/

Are you still having the lipase issue? I pumped SO much extra milk. I would pump an extra 16 oz a day on top of exclusively nursing my twins - it was incredible. I was able to give them each a 6oz night bottle (we did bottles at night so hubby could help with bedtime) for an entire 3 months after I stopped pumping . Never any oversupply issues other than being able to feed them my breast milk longer but I also slowly weaned them from nursing when we were ready (it was closer to 18 months) so my body had time to adjust. But what I LOVED is Motherlove More Milk Plus. I would drink a few drops in OJ like a shot in the morning and I swear it would help anytime I would have a dip in my supply. I already drank so much water so this was the only thing that really made a huge difference. I also found that it didn't affect my milk. Anyway, if you find you need a little boost you should give a try. Also, palm trees and sunshine for Halloween, Christmas, New Year ....in south Florida!

I use this website for most things breastfeeding related!! Kellymom.com states there have been no formal studies on the topic so *technically* they can't recommend one way or another. However, anecdotally it's done all the time and is fine. It seems as though a college student did an informal study on it and found no increase in bacterial load of the milk after partial feeding up to 48 hours later! "Milk storage guidelines do not include any warnings against rewarming milk, and many moms rewarm with no issues. Many moms smell (or taste) the milk to make sure it still smells fresh." -kellymom.com

Interesting! My 2 children always had sensitive bellies but if yours do fine and don’t show any negative affects then perfect! Moms know best!

Hi guys! Do they get 4 oz bottles when they take bottles? I used to get away with 4oz but my girl is a little piggy and now is upset if it’s less than 5oz. She’s 6 1/2 months and has breakfast lunch and dinner with solids than eats 15oz at daycare and breastfeeds atleast 3 times while home with me! I can’t keep up!!!

Juuuust this week I started giving them 2 bottles that are 5 oz while I'm at work, but prior it's always been 4 oz max! I'm worried I won't be able to sustain that for too long though.. 20 oz is a lot to pump in 3 sessions :/

Brad and Rach I give you all the credit in the world, I can’t imagine trying to pump for two babies 😬. I pump three times at work, once before bed and then sometimes have to pump after she eats in the morning just to keep up with my one! You’re a rockstar!

Have u started introducing the twins to actual pieces of food instead of all purrees ?
@BradandRach

Yep! They eat eggs, pieces of sweet potato, banana, puffs, turkey, chicken.. I'm sure I'm missing something. They LOVE picking up pieces to feed themselves!
