What an enourmous amount of road for such a small piece of land. You can make so much more room for buildings if you put only one road in that cirkels around the main buildings.
@TipperProject20 күн бұрын
Yeah one road out the tunnel then one that goes across from the gas station to the park. Don't need all the roads to circle a dead end / turn around would add some nice variation.

For visibility reasons, I like having roads/canals/walkways between my modular building.
@azure125920 күн бұрын
One benefit of roads is much more space for displaying vehicles and mini figures along the pavements/sidewalks. Can also fit mini booth type buildings like newspaper stands, etc.

Yeah road s an train tracks do take up space .for adding more building s. But got to have road s .around building s .most city s have street s around most building. Even if only one way street .or .in some parts just Allie an no road but car s can still drive thru .😊 Only if we only had flying car s .or like Jetson s cars in rubber tunnel s above ground then wouldent need roads 😊 an that would make so much more space for buildings true ..for me with fact. Train tracks take up space to. Most my train tracks are risen .only my train yard an train tunnel at ground level. So under my train tracks. More space for little store s an bus stops car parking an other thing s .but if all my tracks was at ground level. I would have way more less space.

How about using all of your molded trees to fill up the unused temporary green base-plates? It will look like undeveloped forest.

Good to see you're making progress! Imo it would make more sense to have the buildings backed up against the train track instead of the road next to the train tracks. As said by others: a lot of road for very few destinations (buildings).
@Bricksie20 күн бұрын
I've tried that with my layouts before. Personally, I'm not a fan of looking at the backs of buildings
@BGcc120 күн бұрын
@ I understand, that makes sense. I do think that once you’ve made more progress you can make some pretty immersive shots from the ‘holes’ in the layout and you would be looking at the backs of the houses then. But hey, it’s lego, everything can be changed. Good job on your progress so far!

I was thinking about the angled roads a few weeks ago especially downtown. A lot of Lego cities are so square. Something like the Flatiron building in NYC would be awesome. Also need a farm and airport too. A power plant with steam coming out of the stack would be really cool as well. Great work as always!!

One of the strengths of a modular city is that everything can mix and match and move around with relative ease. But one of the weaknesses is that they can't be set at different heights, or integrate landscape organically, or deal with roads and connections at odd angles. I can sense the tension between big creative ideas and ease of assembly.

For the spot you’re considering angling the road to the amusement park… I think would make an awesome little parking lot. Just have the road go straight into a parking lot. Make a mini entrance booth to pay for parking and fill 4-5 parking spots with Easter egg cars with a walking path into your park entrance!!!

Have you thought about where your brick cross station will go? The progress just this week has been very good what a difference it’s making having you both there. Let’s face it there are so many Modular’s on the horizon that space would be filled in no time - maybe you could do some temporary green space or a construction display with diggers and other vehicles and workmen that remains in place until more Modular’s release.

Roads are looking good - what about having buildings facing the tracks and have a walkway there by the railway instead of grass of course only where space allows
@Angrist1720 күн бұрын
I love the progress. Here's a planning / philosophical question for you Jordan. How are you conceptualizing the access holes? Specifically, what's in the "empty space"? I know you didn't want to do pop-out panels (that'd be a nightmare), but in your imagination, what exists there? I ask that because you *could* run a road right off the edge and through that virtual space, which would allow you to get a few more modulars in that space where the current road leading up to the park entrance is. Rotate that 90 0 degrees and come left to right (viewer from the stairs) out of the standing whole toward the edge.

@BillEves-v4s20 күн бұрын
Hi. Watching your channel for a while, love your city. Suggestion. I think you should leave the train station in front of park for people coming to park for people who don't drive. And a parking lot where the haunted mansion is to the park. Just on that side of that open area .that way your road could stop at the road baseplate to transition to parking lot.which you could also connect with the train station.

Hi Bricksie. Fantastic to watch you and Jose working hard at road building. You work so well as a team! I have a question for you... You have a Kwik Mart and a petrol station near the roads. While it could be argued that both are necessary in the greater city, I was wondering if both are not also suitable for the residential area? Somehow they are part and parcel of the neighbourhood scene. I am not questioning your planned placings just offering a suggestion.
