Thank you for explaining this Mr. Puckett. My grandfather's tried to help me split my loop for years now, but he's an old calf roper, and it just wasn't clicking for me. You broke it down very easy to understand.

Thank you! This info really works. I do not have much roping experience, but due to your encouragement to rope horses, I have successfully been roping our horses, from watching your video on How to rope your horse when you don't know how to rope video, best training advice out there. Since roping them I'll never go back to any of the common round pen work. Really made a difference in their mind. Thank you, thank you!!

A few of us were sitting on our horses by a gate discussing how a gate should be opened from horse back. Another cowboy road up and to draw him into the conversation he was asked "how many hands does it take to open a gate." He looked at us a second and replied "depends on the outfit."

Thank you for the roping info and for the remarks on what is happening in our country. I drove by the Old Spanish Trail a couple of days ago on my way back to the Rez from Salt Lake City, UT. Beautiful country.

Western Australia here Pat and Deb. Just wanted to let you know we think you and your lovely wife are alright mate. We know the difference between shit and clay, or cowards with shields and weapons and ordinary good working folks. Love the horsemanship stuff, I can't rope but I've been using your tips for gentling my filly (rope on each leg and getting the correct eye) Thanks and God bless!

@@PatnDebPuckettColour me happy guys cos that's just made my day!! I'm gonna make up an "enticement reel" to give you a better idea of how beautiful it is down here. 😂 I'll email it thru once I'm done, be about a week. Deb seeing as you're flat out like a lizard drinking (with your winter coming on) I'll have a look at the different digital options for both converting the DVD and packaging it for online sales and immediate viewing/download. I notice you guys are with squarespace - that makes it all pretty easy. I'll do some research and then send the info on via email so you can get back to me as time permits 😊 Never in a hurry here. God bless you guys

As far as slack goes when you get one caught just lift your arm don't panic and don't look at your horn.
@rafterL78
@rafterL78 4 жыл бұрын
When you pull the slack I noticed it looks thumb down. As a roper trained from the "dark side" we were taught always pull slack thumb up so you can multiply by 10's. Do you roll your hand over or dally thumb down? Thanks, from Appalachian foot hills in N. E. Alabama
@PatnDebPuckett
@PatnDebPuckett 4 жыл бұрын
No. Pat never dallies with his thumb down. I just watched the whole video. If you split the loop and your thumb is down, you don’t leave it that way. You would grab the loop so your thumb is up prior to pulling your slack and dallying.

How can I help the Navajo Rez with water situation? Who do I need to contact on the rez?
@PatnDebPuckett
@PatnDebPuckett 4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, the tribal government is no help whatsoever. It is our hope that someone with power and influence will take up this cause. I think the most important things are education, awareness, and spreading the word. Then the young Navajo people will have backing and will be able to get something done. So, to answer your question, there is no simple solution, or number to call, or charity to donate to. This is a fledgling “cause” so our individual efforts to raise awareness of this embarrassing problem in the richest country on the planet is the first step. Thank you for being interested!

This makes me so sad and mad at the same time. Americans have gone all over the world to build wells for other countries and we cant get water to our own people. This makes me angry! Im ready to do whatever I can to help. Im going to call my congressmen might not help but at least Im trying to do something. Those Navajo horse blankets would be a great fund raising opportunity.

If you have to doctor a calf by yourself what method would you use?
@PatnDebPuckett
@PatnDebPuckett 4 жыл бұрын
It depends on the situation and what is wrong with the calf. If it’s respiratory, he would rope a hind foot and get short until the hind foot is a foot off the ground. Then he would get down, tie off, tie down the calf down, and doctor it. If it’s something bigger like a yearling, he might circle up. This requires 3 complete circuits around the critter so you don’t choke it down like we see on some videos. Then you get in the correct angle with your horse to draw the critter’s hind legs up so you can get down. Hope this helps.

Australian Broadcast Co. is on the lefty hit list along with Rebel News of Canada, whose young , female reporter was jailed with the rioters for nearly two days in NYC. That one is embarrassing too. (I watch both). Great video, sage advise as always.

It’d be awesome if people stopped shaming the police and started realizing it’s their own actions that is why the police are there in the first place and then once the police do get there you should show them some respect and get out of their way so they can do their job and keep us safe.

I have been watching your videos and have enjoyed them and have even spent money on your products. Did you actually see the things you allege happen or are you getting the information second hand ? When you start apologizing for America you are placing me in your comments and I have wronged no one, especially an Aussie. I grew up working hard and respecting our way of life. I guess Merle Haggsrd sums it up for me in the song the fightin side of me. Please refrain from apologizing for me. I can do my own if neede.
