I should have put this in the video but iKon has a top of the line ventilation system the prevents workers from needing respirators while laying glass. With that being said, respirators are still offered to workers who want them. Their systems are regularly inspected and a styren count is reported monthly and is below state requirements

-1 to Ikon for no respirators while working with fibreglass. A great company cares about its employees, not just the product.

So why are employees not saying anything?
@StephanieBalu9 күн бұрын
@@romaloboda2280 really?.. they just work there, probably don't even know the risks. It's literally ikons job to look after their workers, tf is this a China sweat shop where they have to rights?

Having your workers fibreglassing without respirators is horrid. Look after your workers. They're not expendable.
@romaloboda22809 күн бұрын
Why do workers still work without respirators? If someone doesn't want they don't do it.
@karlfriedrich77589 күн бұрын
@romaloboda2280 the company knows darn well the dangers of fibreglass fibres and is responsible for their workers - this isn't some backwater Eastern European gulag but they're running it like that, exploiting their staff's health. Most low-level employees do not know the intricacies of the materials they are working with and so it's the requirement of the company to enforce measures that protect their staff. I've worked in the automotive industry in Germany in a company that dealt heavily with composite so I am speaking from experience - this is a sloppy operation and they straight up do not care about their workers. They're selling 100k boats and can't afford and/or don't care to stop preventable and serious respiratory issues with some basic H&S measures... That's embarrassing.

Pretty darn sure the workers made a choice

I had NO IDEA iKons we’re made right down the road from me here in East Tennessee! I’ve fished at the local park pond right next to the factory! Let’s just say that small town East Tennessee Madisonville is NOT where I would expect such high-end bass boats to be made.

I think they are way above $100,000.00. I hear they are a great boat but only a few can afford. They are not for the average working man. It cost too much.
@lestersybert9 күн бұрын
Yes I think the "cheapest" model starts close to the 100K price tag. If you're a Pro I suppose they're worth it. If I happened to hit the Lottery or something crazy happens like a Rich Uncle that I'm unaware of leaves me a Fortune I would probably have one...otherwise I'll just Drool over them 😅! Pretty Much about every Brand of boat out there for a top of the line one is a 100K nowadays. I know several people who have 80-100K boats....but they don't really catch any more fish than I do in a Tracker pro 195, Plus it's Paid for and I'm not in Debt for like 8+ years! I can buy a lot of gas for the 60K difference in the price of them lol!

I can tell you first hand, cutting fiberglass with a chainsaw sucks. Just dulls the chain basically instantly. Reciprocating saw is the way to go.

Husqvarna … it doesn’t get any better. Them I can afford, bass boats not so much. Things in the hyped up bass fishing industry have gotten out of control. But I guess if people will pay the ridiculous prices then companies will continue to soak those same people.
