Sorry about the wind at the beginning, it gets better, I promise. I have been asked about this video for years, here you go. I have another bigger and better project following this, stay tuned!

Good looking package. A sleeping bag under the backpack is good. I don't know why there aren't that style of attachment options for sleeping bags these days. A sleeping bag rarely fits inside a backpack. So a proper attachment point down to the outside is a good option.

That is what my Ruck looked like. As a jumper, when the 82 was issued, we crunched the wire frames first drop, we then immediately switched to the new packs with the 64 pattern frames.

You’re killing me! I was issued the old 64 when I joined and we transitioned to the 82 pattern and that steel frame, we thought that was awesome until it got tossed around in the back of the trucks. Have a good one!

Great channel I like the content your down to earth demeanour. The shoulder straps from the pattern 82 fit the ALICE frame and Tactical Tailor MALICE frame very well If you also rig it up for use with pattern 82 webbing (like in the manual) you get extra padding from the web gear. Great for hunting and backwoods adventures. That said I sold my pattern 82 gear and am running a Helikon Tex Numbat and a Foxtrot mk2. Lol

If you put the valise straps both over top of the valise instead of having one under, it will pull the pack bottom more open. Also replace the hip belt with a kuny’s work belt, it can be woven into frame. Additionally you can make your own 64 pattern frame out of aluminum tubing, I did way back when...... mat tech loaned me some tubing and tools. 6’ 4” the 64 was five inches too short.

A Molle 2 waist strap fits perfectly on the 64 pattern frame.

I just scored a C2 welded frame attached to what appears to be an older CP gear ruck and webbing. I am in the process of tearing it apart and rebuilding the CP gear stuff on a more modern frame and building my 82 pattern ruck like this.

The 64 frame with aftermarket Alice pads, an 82 ruck, and the sleeping system holder, is a really trick pack. It also wears well over SAPIs

The 64 packs wear better over armor because of the pocket created above the hip pads too

I've enjoyed your series on this pack. A nice bit of Canadiana. Would you happen to be on crown land? I've been looking for some near Toronto.

I modified my 82 pattern ruck with molle shoulder straps and waistbelt, do you know if you could do the same with the 64 pattern frame?
@kilroywuzhere14 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. Check out warrior gear.

Yes, you can.

The problem is 64 frames are impossible to find and expensive.
@OshawaBushcraft3 жыл бұрын
I agree, I believe I even said that in the video.

@@OshawaBushcraft Was looking for one a long time. I made this comment and found one hooked to a 84 like new from a retired officer the next day. 50$. Your video brought luck. Thanks for your work. I am now thinking of changing straps for molle when I have the money.

Это оригинальный каркас или самодельный??

This is an original frame from the older Canadian army rucksack.
