To all the new shooters, take heed! This guy knows his stuff! I wish I watched this video before building my 34 up, it would have saved a bunch of time waiting for stuff in the mail. The biggest upgrades for me were the recoil spring and striker. I started reloaded standard loads and everything was good. Replaced the connector and striker spring and got light primer strikes all the time. Got a lightened striker and was good to go. Started tweaking the loads down and my slide was no longer cycling... new 12 pound recoil spring. It took me about a month and a half before I got the wrinkles ironed out and it drove me nuts! Great video. Also excellent shooting!

Good info. I know it wasn't available at the time but to anyone building this now I highly suggest looking at the Timney Alpha Trigger for glock. Its pretty amazing what they have done. Thanks for the cool video!

I have a Glock 20 Gen3 and have not been happy with the cycling compared to the Gen4 double spring design. I first noticed how much better the Glock 29 felt. I also shoot 180 to 200 grain loads. Is there a spring that you would recommend I replace with? You mentioned a couple springs, but I wanted to ask the specific question based on the 10mm. Thank you.

what striker spring weights have you tried with the 34 and 35? did you find a weight that would work without a lightened striker or did you just go to that for all Glocks now?

John L. I use a zev spring in the production 34 with a idp striker. I use a glock standard spring in the 35 with a idp striker.

Wouldn't running fmj damage the barrel more if it is fouled with led?

Stock mag release would probably keep mags from ejecting during recoil and it's already easy as hell to hit.

The most common striker fail is oil in the firing bore chamber. Never lube the firing pin on any glock.

+Geoffrey Joel These days I use a 11 lbs spring in the Glock 34 for production. For the 35 I use a 13 lbs spring for Limited in .40. The gun will run very flat with those spring. keeps the gun on target more of the time.
