why use little pcs of metal that causes you all that welding in the back? Make a cardboard template of the piece of metal you need, cut one piece of metal to the shape of the template and weld it on. You wasted so much time and caused yourself tons of work. Always make templates, it saves lots of hours. But I've noticed most beginners think templates take too long lol. Also, you need to throw away that welder and get a real welder...instead of buying Starbucks save the money and buy a real wirefeed welder with gas. You're a smart guy and talented...don't waste it. Watch videos...tons of videos and soak-up what you see and hear and over time you could be another Gene Winfield.

I would have gone ahead and shaped the bottom of the side pcs. to the crown of the hood first, seems you made it work though. Also, I'm with you on the MIG gas, same issue around here.

I know it's crazy. I stopped working on it for a bit so my brother could get his car in but it will look good when finished

If you had cut a wedge out instead of making a straight cut, your sides would have the same angle on each side.

@@CCAutoWorks your welcome my friend. Always use a wire wheel with your grinder to get rid of paint. It doesn't distort the metal like grinding disc or flap disc. Always cool to see the younger generation love this hobbie
