Some people don't know that there is a whole community around mechanical keyboards/switches. I recently found out that there are people lubing their switches and fine tuning them to perfection while I am here typing on my cheap 30$ pre-assembled fake mx blue keyboard feeling like a god.
@Mik3l245 жыл бұрын
Nah, I'm fine with my prebuild Kalih brown keyboard. Jump from a membrane to mechanical keyboard is enough for me, also I like having numkeys and I prefer the ergonomics of a bigger case. Even my younger sister wants one for her PC. I knew before about custom mechanical keyboards, but it turns out they aren't as nieche as I previously thought and there are more than ~3 switch manufacturers (not counting no-names)
@jerryknudsen78984 жыл бұрын
To be fair, a genuine chery MX blue keyboard wouldn't offer anything better. If it's an outemu blue then in my opinion you have the best brand of blue. It's a crazy community though and I just got into it enough to start doing it myself. It's so rewarding. Manufacturers are getting on board as well, just bought a $40 outemu brown board, removed all the switches because some outemus have hotswap sockets, bought 80gram gold springs, bagged lubed the springs with superlube 31110 spray, and lubed the stems with krytox 305g2 lightly on the sides. Sounds and feels better than my halo clear custom 60% for like half the cost and twice the keycount.

@@jerryknudsen7898 outemu's are the worst sounding switches and they feel very mehh, but for the price I guess they're alright
@brian33874 жыл бұрын
Haha, we might have the same board. The switch to even a “cheap” entry level mechanical keyboard is still a big upgrade from membrane keyboards so it’s all good in my opinion. I also added orings and a rubber mat (instead of foam) on the inside of the case and they both helped curb the cheapness feel and sound of the keyboard without a huge money or time investment.

you can't imagine how much you helped me with this video! for 2 weeks I have been studying mechanical keyboards, switches, springs, pcb etc. at first i just wanted to buy a keyboard 60% i came to the conclusion to buy the anna pro 2 but then i said to myself: hey wait a minute what if i want to change from cherry mx red to cherry mx blue? how to do ? seeking the answer to this question made me discover a world that I am now addicted to. from a simple keyboard on amazon I found myself buying all the necessary tools, the various swith testers, the o ~ rings, the grease. and basically I'm undecided between: 1 buy the Gamakay k61 2 buy the Kemova Snow 3 glorious compact barebones 4 build it myself by buying the different parts thanks to you I understood which parts that pcb works with! you don't know how much you helped me!

my favorite tactile switches to use are kailh coppers. They have the tactile bump at the very top, but it is a sharp, but not too strong tactile bump. And it actuates early while having snappy feedback. Idk, they feel unique and are something like lighter, and little less tactile Halo True switches

Keyboards these days are like semi-semi-semi-semi-semi mechanical Just call it a mushy ass keyboard
@TrueMathSquare4 жыл бұрын
I have never understood on why people called mechanical keyboards "mushy" I actually prefer them cause they have a nice smooth bump, quite, cushion at the bottom so that it doesn't feel like you are hitting a wall, and not firm as a brick so if your figures are a bit off center they will basically bend to your figure by a very small movement. I really like membrane keyboards with the exception of they get worn out quicker.
a true mechanical keyboard has a little "PING!" when pressing a key. thats just 101 stuff.

For a while I forgot what I was watching and just relaxed with all the keyboard typing sounds. Certainly more pleasant than the red switches in my Corsair K60, but that's probably because I'm bottoming out every keypress because I'm clumsy haha. I'd love to build a keyboard, though I've had a hard time tracking down UK ISO layout stuff. Perhaps it's time to move on from this layout and its massive enter key.

Pandas in plastic casr sound more hallow then a alumi, and that isnt a bad thing both are nice i would say, on plastic a bit more thockier, and on alumi it has a shorter sound and a bit low high pitch. However the space bar on the plastic sound very bad and ruins the entire experience, try to add foam so it gets thocky.
