Since it's a door viewer, an iris scanner would be a natural choice. You'd just have to get the mounting and optics to look normal. While you're at it, you should include a camera to replace the lost hallway view capability. There may be such a unit available already but of course, that would turn it into simply a research and sourcing project.

Yeah, there is so much you can do with it. Good luck!

Would have been a lot better if you used a cheap fingerprint scanner in the peep hole, which work amazingly well!!

Now everyone knows about it 😂 Surely there is something in the agreement of housing that prevents you altering security 😅

Cool project! Surprised that the arduino has enough power to run that stepper motor all on its own
@TannerTech
@TannerTech 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The arduino isn't driving the stepper itself, there is a motor driver chip next to the arduino that is driving it. If I tried to drive the stepper straight from the arduino, it might break it

@@TannerTech you're correct! I misread your drawn schematic. And that was my sentiment as well seeing as how Arduino pins can only handle like 20mA maximum

tanner check out my mini fusion reactor prototype MFC. this is not a Farnsworth fusor this is a form of mini tokamak that uses one magnet for electrode protection and particle spin and uses the x-ray presser from the reaction to confine the plasma as a passive containment as the reaction increase's so does the x-rays so the core self balance's. info is in the description
