I’m planning on getting a German shepherd this is very helpful to understand what kind of space he will need!

The space is good to keep a dog in there for a few hours while we are out shopping or can't bring the dogs with us. But I would not keep a dog in there long term, they would need more room to move around.

I love that kennel, you gave me alot of great ideas. I like how you got the boards at the top of the fence because if you didn't it would sag a little, especially after the dogs start jumping on it.

I think the same way a lot, my dad did a lot of woodworking in his spare time and so he made some things I'll probably never do. But if you just spend some time with you can create some interesting things

Great job! I like using ROMEX staples to hold the fencing down. Romex staples are used in electrical pre-wires to nail the wire to the inside of the stud.

Great job! Just some opinion, instead of putting the mesh to prevent digging, you actually could lay some stone deck on and between the stone deck, cut a 1” or 1 1/2 diameter PVC in half as a drainage lead to outside the kennel, so when they poop on the stone deck just flush into the PVC and running along to outside.

I'm about to start building a dog kennel, with concrete slab, and now you have me rethinking that plan. Concrete is just so heavy to deal with. I wanted to avoid digging the post holes, but now I'm thinking that may not be so bad if I can get the floor of the kennel set up right. Maybe I'll put gravel beneath, for some drainage.

Great vid ,great idea for hanging that kind of wire fence! Thats the same wire fence im putting up & just couldnt decide on my own because it looked like some old feild divider fence or it just looked like total shit.! Im gonna build mine as you've done ! Thank you brother im a mechanic i can do the work i cannot seem to visualize it in my head to be able to start cus as i stated it looked like total shit i would have been ashamed for anyone to have seen it ! Had it been a vehicle i can see that in my coconut but this just wasn't happening! Thank you so much your a damn fine carpenter in my opion!
