@@desisarod because it has potting soil in it, but I'm sure it would be easy to change the dirt out and make everything else reptile safe. In that case it wouldn't only be from the dollar store.

As long as the soil is natural and has no fertilizer and any chemicals in it is safe for the lizard and perfectly fine for him to use.

I also would have cut the back of the bird house out, just leaving about an inch to hold bedding in and easy to clean out, just cover it with hanging moss( like a curtain).
