I am looking at that exact motherboard to replace my gigabyte ga z270 hd3 and dual core i3. Not sure about the Cpu, either R7 5800 or R9 5900, but I only use Gigabyte Boards whenever possible. Top notch stuff. Just hope it can hang with my old system

@@ThisBytesForYou I got the Gigabyte X570S and the 5900. It was about $200 more than just going cheap mb & chip combo but it should last longer before I need to upgrade. It is quite a bit faster than the i3. The cpu almost never shows 100% usage like the old one and is mostly under 20% which is great. My 1050ti started getting wonkey shortly after the build. It was showing dark bands in a repeating pattern across the screen after being on for random amount of time. I ordered a 6700xt that was on special and it cured it. The new sys is great. I just need to figure out how to get the rgb to all play nice with each other and also get my cables tucked properly. Thanks again for the build vid. It was a great refresher before my build.

@@ThisBytesForYou Thanks brother for extending your support & help. Wish you all the best. This will be my second build. Will share a silly yet easy to overlook step during my first build. I was upgrading few components of my PC and was replacing my 550 W PSU with a 750 W. I have a UPS which is rated as 1000 VA. Once all upgrade was done, i tried starting my PC but it wouldnt start. Luckily luck was passing by and it struck me that maybe the UPS is restricting the initial current to my system. Isolated the UPS and YESSS it started. I was both happy and felt silly at the same time. 1000VA = 600W. Had it not struck me then how silly I was, I would have been scratching my head what went wrong :p Hope someday sometime, someone could avoid a major headache if in a similar situation. Take care brother. Cheers.

Hello my friend, yes I think this would be a great build for you, I have this build as my main system, though I am using the 3090 FTW3, since I do a lot of video editing, photo editing (mainly thumb nails) and a little gaming, sadly I don't have time for gaming anymore since i have a day job, then come home to review, but I sneak some in when I can. You can see which parts I have exactly in this video, and in the description, they will take you to Amazon through my affiliate links: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2SvmXmDmceneKM. If you are buying it, please make sure to read what I mention about the RAM, the corsair ram didn't work correctly, G.SKill worked perfectly. I have zero idea about anything computer related, I'm looking to get into PC gaming and PC building however alot of the stuff I'm seeing on YT is incredibly expensive. I'm looking for a solid starter build for about 1000 to 1300, is it possible to build a PC for that amount that will run most games on max graphics settings?
@ThisBytesForYou
@ThisBytesForYou 2 жыл бұрын
right now, with the prices of GPU's going through the roof because of silicon shortages, miners, scalpers, covid/man power... it's not the greatest time to build a PC. Even back at the 1K to 1.3K pricing, you cannot play games at max graphics settings, unless maybe you are playing at 1080P. I HIGHLY recommend right now, because of the stupid pricing situation we are in on GPU's, buy a pre-built from iBuyPower, Cyberpower, etc so you can get the most bang for your buck. Get something with a higher than required power supply, so you can update the video card when prices go down and cpu maybe.

@ThisBytesForYou I purchased a X570 Aorus Master last year, put it in a Inwin ATX case paired it with the Ryzen 7 3800X, GSkill 4x8 32GB 3600Mhz and an AMD Sapphire RX580 GPU that at the time was pretty tough to source here in Australia for a reasonable price and while i have been more than happy with the build - I have recently been thinking of performance upgrades but am reluctant to go as far as jumping to the new Z690 series and spending up for DDR5 and the required all new compatible parts and pieces...I would like to be able to ditch the Thunderbolt 3 PCIe card and the 10Gbe PCIe card and have those as integrated/onboard options in a new board to free up some sockets/lanes......I'd be interested to here any thoughts or suggestions though....thanks
@ThisBytesForYou
@ThisBytesForYou 2 жыл бұрын
well, the 3800X is still very powerful, the only thing you need to update is the video card, that is kind of old for gaming at least. Z690 is nice, but DDR5 currently is not worth it, also, Z690 works with DDR4, you just have to buy the right board. If you buy a Z690 board that supports DDR4, it will not support DDR5 and if you buy one that supports DDR5, it will not support DDR4. Actually, my Z390 Dark just died last night, I am sending it in for RMA, my main workstation machine, where I edit all my videos. I was struggling thinking between Z690 and X570 as well, but I just put in an order for a 5900X, 62gigs of 3200Mhz CL16 RAM (I realized afterwards it was only 3200, but it should be OK), a 1000watt PSU and a 5000 airflow case, a nice update I think. I will be updating my daughters machine, which is 10+ years old with my replaced z390 and a 9900K processor and I will be getting a 5900X. AMD and Intel have something coming out REAL soon, that may be your best bet to upgrade, as for me, I had no choice but to upgrade now. Also, by the time that comes out, DDR5 might be more common place, and cheaper, its too expensive and hard to find right now.

@@ThisBytesForYou well Im really not that big of a gamer and i just cant bring myself to spend more than 600.00 on a graphics card and here in Australia prices are through the roof for anything I would want to buy so i just cant justify spending up for a top tier card - i do a lot of video and music encoding, alot of streaming my network transfer speeds are whats really important to me which is why Ive invested in a 10Gbe system and CAT8 cables
@ThisBytesForYou
@ThisBytesForYou 2 жыл бұрын
@@vinylmonster4907 Well, it's a common misconception, about a gamer and gaming cards. The difference between the 580 (which is a gaming card) and the newer higher end cards is CUDA Cores (NVIDIA) and Streaming Cores (AMD). Newer higher end cards have more, those cores are essentially processors, the more you have, the more the video card encodes and decodes the video, music, audio, and all other processes, of course, as long as the program is written for it, most newer ones are (newer as in within the last 15 years). For example, the RX 6700 XT has 2,560 streaming cores , with 40 compute units 384GB/s memory bandwidth with GDDR6, which all aid in decode and encode, vs the 580 which has 2304 stream processor/cores 36 compute units, with a memory bandwidth of 256 GB/s with GDDR5. The specs alone might not seem like a ton, but there are 3 generations there and each makes huge improvements in everything. I won't go into NVIDIA, but its along the same lines. Right now though, $600 won't buy you anything because the market is all screwed up, but supposedly it is getting better and you can get a 6700 or a 6800 for around that much, or the next gen (which will be 4 gens newer) in around the september time frame. You will however need a newer power supply to handle how much power you will need, but your motherboard has PCIE 4.0, so you will be good.

@@ThisBytesForYou that RX6700XT cost over 1000K here in Australia the cheapest 6800 is more than 1700.00. I bought that AMD Sapphire RX580 Nitro a year ago at a time when GPU's couldnt be purchased here and even then I overpaid to get it just to complete the build - I might just upgrade though but the market would have to take a dramatic turn and experience a huge correction....I am seriously considering a Ryzen 7 5800X though in the meantime the 5950 is just extremely absurd right now here

always a pleasure my friend, so happy I could help you. Looking at the Arctic alpine 12, I don't see that it will work on the 11500 as its a socket 1700, the alpine will work on the 115x socket. You might be looking at the Freezer 50, you can find it here on my Amazon affiliate link: geni.us/HJJBmP or the i35, you can also find here on my amazon affiliate link as well :geni.us/CQEK I will be making a video on the A35 soon, but I think I can convert it into an I as well, but it will take me a while, since I am working on a few videos. Sorry, sockets on the brain. Regardless, i would NEVER recommend something like that, it might be slightly better than the stock heatsink intel includes. For double the cost of the CO, you can get the i35 (there are 4 options on this link, get the cheapest one: geni.us/CQEK ) that way you know you are safe, without guessing, spend a little more and be safe. My recommendation, even if you don't use my link.

actually, let me take that back, even at 1920x1080, you will be getting around 40 something frames per second even with all the eye candy turned on. This video card is from 2015, actually everything is from around the same time. $600 might be a bit much for this PC, but in times liek thewse where we can't get anything, its not horrible. You need at least a better video card, but something that can work with a 500Watt PC, and I would highly suggest another 8Gigs of RAM for a total of 16Gigs, it is a severly underpowered PC for todays standards.
