Wow this turned out great. The magnet strip is genius, I’m going to copy that idea.

Echo was mostly gone as it filled up with crap. Cover the floor with horse stall mats and it will be dead quiet, and a lot nicer to your feet.

It’s amazing how echoey it is with nothing in it. I found the same with my house when we first moved in. But once there’s stuff in there, it’s a heck of a lot better! Well done repurposing cabinets! Looks freaking awesome!

Came out nice. I’ll be retiring in a couple of years so I’m always on the lookout for bike shop ideas for when I downsize the house and have to get more “creative” space wise. BTW- The audio post workstation install was waaaaaay better than the opening/ blank canvas segment. Hanging a carpet/rug on an opposing wall might be all that’s needed in the short term.

I was using the lapel mic for that last clip, which helps a ton.

love the videos, keep up the good work! Congrats on the move, I'm sure it'll come together. Now all you needs is sound insulation, holy echos lol, but it already sounds better by the end of the vid!

Looks great. A lot more fun to work on bikes when tools and parts are organized. Thanks for the video Steve. Looking forward to see how you store the fleet of bikes.

With so many standards in the bike industry, I need a ton of different parts to review bikes and tweak things

Love it! When I moved last year, I finally got a 3 car garage which was a dream come true. The previous owners left a big 8 ft long section of lower kitchen cabinets which were used for storage and so that plus my existing 5 ft workbench/tool storage unit plus my Husky vertical tool box takes up a ton of room. I didn't get a chance to really set up that part of my garage how I need it for the vest use of space, so now I'm looking at ways to improve on that. A large, single work surface area with tons of drawers and a pegboard is what I have been thinking I need. Can't wait to see what you do for bike storage. I am thinking I need to do vertical wall mounting.

Hey Man, with furniture the sound got better, less echoes. Big success. And it will go on, i'm sure🖖

That was because I switched to a lapel mic.

The audio seemed better at the end. I would guess that the panels and the rest of the “stuff” will be good enough to soak up the excess sound.
@BigBrainParty16 күн бұрын
The main difference at the end was the lapel microphone i was wearing. It's still pretty echoey, but it's usable for now

I wonder what you opinion o Schwalbe Radial tires is. Would it give the bike a bit more "suspension" on the back?

Pouring an epoxy floor in the garage will reduce reflected sound.
@BigBrainParty10 күн бұрын
Really? I assumed it'd be the same since it's a hard surface
@Xgecko6610 күн бұрын
@ it is but it’s soft, my last ship replaced all the linoleum on the main decks with epoxy for her last decade of service. The two most noticeable things were the quieter passageways and a massive reduction in Motrin requests from Medical for joint pain (steel decks make walking on concrete seem soft)
