I feel like with part time careers the bathroom and kitchen should be free including stove and fridge BUT it has to be the cheapest items and if you want to upgrade that comes out of the salary as well as any additional appliances, I feel like that's the most realistic

In the future for apartments & PT careers, I agree with the consensus that the kitchen & bathroom should be free…as long as they use the cheapest/basic items. Upgrading will cost money. Also, the bathroom should include the tub/shower combo because then the landlord can say it’s “handicapped” accessible…not that’s an issue in The Sims. But it happens in real life. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Also perhaps they’re a college/university student instead of a HS student…

Actually you’re expected to provide the seat. The apartment next to me was remodeled to be ADA/handicapped accessible and my neighbor had to get a shower seat.

It kinda of has a thrifted look to me, which makes sense for a teenager living on her own for the first time. I'm quite enjoying this series! The babysitter career should be next if you wanna do more part time jobs for awhile!

In Australia, homes and units usually come with kitchen benches, stoves, rangehoods, even some dishwashers, toilets, bath/shower depending on the size and vanity. Rentals also can sometimes include basic blinds, flooring and carpet.

I actually do have a coffee tip! You have to make sure you’re well hydrated, which can cause crashing. Additionally you should be drinking your coffee leisurely, so stretching it out over time as opposed to drinking down a whole cup within a short amount of time. And lastly, more is not better and too much caffeine especially if you’re drinking quickly will cause a crashing

When I’m doing a rag to riches thing, and my sim lives in an apartment, I feel the exact same way. I don’t feel like my sim should have to pay for utilities like a fridge sink a bathroom because that should’ve already been included in an apartment so you could’ve done whatever you wanted and I would’ve agreed is what I’m trying to say.

Absolutely LOVED this build. (Like, I always love your builds but this one is especially cute!) I wonder if it might be fun to do the criminal career next as a fun change of pace (idk how you're gonna get the average salary tho lol). Also, since this series is doing so well, I wonder if it might be helpful to your viewers to make a graphic like the one you did for the series where you built an apartment building in each sims 4 world. Just something SUPER simple and easy to make so we can keep track of the careers you've done already and make sure we're not suggesting something done already. Love love your channel!! I feel like since its an apartment...in real life kitchen, bathroom, AC, plumbing, lights, wallpaper and floor come "free" because it was already built up and only have to pay for the persons things. Now if you wanted to create a new, modern apartment building for the part time jobs, maybe the sim that's going to live in the space can decide all of that.

4:29 I think if doing an apartment, then having fixed walls/doors/windows would be free with basic paint job and flooring. Then maybe use the cheapest fixtures for the bathroom and kitchen that you would have to spend money to upgrade if you want. This seems like a good mid-ground compromise.

In case you don’t already know, the lighter the roast, the more caffeine. Darker roast coffees have a tendency to have less caffeine.

idea the shell/wallpaper/flooring/doors and windows could be free. and so could the very basic necessities for an apartment. like the stuff that’s already in an apartment when moving in. you could do cheaper stuff based on budgets. i feel like that’s realistic. cheaper apartments=cheaper stuff. snd then you could decorate it like you would your actual apartment!

i think platforms and bathrooms should be free and anything more than the most basic kitchen (no mot the stained one but the other one) should cost money so technically you could have a kitchen included but you maybe asked the landlord to renovate the kitchen and that cost you but if you bought it with the technically 2nd cheapest kitchen set itd be free and if you only ipgraded the fridge or stove then that would cost money but the basic counters wouldnt

I would love to see a nurse! I know the career path is doctor but as a nursing student I get excited for my pay bump to come from ER Tech to a BSN RN, and the sims path starts as an assistant! Surgeon would eventually be neat as well, but maybe a new grad nurse who has a partner would be a cool idea with a salary of about 80k.

for future reference, a “part time” job is anything fewer than 30 (29-0). so realistically you could have had a larger budget (around 20,000-21,000)! that’s typically for baristas in california.

I found that the best way I can cope with my second cup of coffee and not get jittery is to have an a single shot espresso. I wake up early so I have a single shot of espresso (ristretto) because it’s more concentrated. It’s like injecting myself with caffeine. At around 11 I have a normal drip coffee cause by that time I’m starting to get tired. I don’t have anything to drink after that. If I need a pick me up at 2ish. I have steeped tea.

In the Netherlands we rent houses from corporations that are not allowed to make a profit. When you rent a house or apartment everything is bare (floors, walls, windows etc.). The only thing you get is a toilet, sink and shower. In the kitchen a kitchen unit and sink, without kitchen appliances.

In the future doing any kind of part time jobs you should allow yourself to do the kitchen counters and cabinets and the kitchen appliances and sinks and bathrooms for free and not apart of the budget since they are included in every apartment and townhome that way you have the entirety of the budget to use for the rest of the house just a thought

Personally, I think if they are *renting* then yes cheat out the walls/ceilings/floors/ etc., renting a unit you don't really pay for that. Also agree with what someone else said, fridge oven and maybe a cheap laptop, as long as it's all cheap it's believable that they'd already have the laptop and or unit came with the stove/fridge

I love your logic over the basic shell, but I will say the point was to build something out of someone's full year salary. Also, every part-time job I've ever had was 29 hrs, and my partner mentioned some are up to 39 hrs to cheat people out of benefits.
