I feel like with part time careers the bathroom and kitchen should be free including stove and fridge BUT it has to be the cheapest items and if you want to upgrade that comes out of the salary as well as any additional appliances, I feel like that's the most realistic

I would say for future as well, a laptop is fairly realistic, I feel like most people would have one especially with part time careers where they might be in uni

In the future for apartments & PT careers, I agree with the consensus that the kitchen & bathroom should be free…as long as they use the cheapest/basic items. Upgrading will cost money. Also, the bathroom should include the tub/shower combo because then the landlord can say it’s “handicapped” accessible…not that’s an issue in The Sims. But it happens in real life. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Also perhaps they’re a college/university student instead of a HS student…

It kinda of has a thrifted look to me, which makes sense for a teenager living on her own for the first time. I'm quite enjoying this series! The babysitter career should be next if you wanna do more part time jobs for awhile!

In Australia, homes and units usually come with kitchen benches, stoves, rangehoods, even some dishwashers, toilets, bath/shower depending on the size and vanity. Rentals also can sometimes include basic blinds, flooring and carpet.

The plant next to the fireplace won't catch on fire because the fireplace from the kit is a faux fireplace. Also I would love to see a build for a real life fast food employee, as I'm in the food industry myself.

When I’m doing a rag to riches thing, and my sim lives in an apartment, I feel the exact same way. I don’t feel like my sim should have to pay for utilities like a fridge sink a bathroom because that should’ve already been included in an apartment so you could’ve done whatever you wanted and I would’ve agreed is what I’m trying to say.

I think that everything in the apartment should cost something. It makes it more challenging, and the apartments already provides help by not having to pay for as many walls. I love watching budget builds that require some tricks and clever thinking

Personally, I think if they are *renting* then yes cheat out the walls/ceilings/floors/ etc., renting a unit you don't really pay for that. Also agree with what someone else said, fridge oven and maybe a cheap laptop, as long as it's all cheap it's believable that they'd already have the laptop and or unit came with the stove/fridge

When you're on a budget and have a tiny staircase like in this apartment, you can delete the underside of the stairs to save about $100.

Fast food employee salary PLEASE 🙏 The area i live is mostly surrounded by fast food companies and lack in higher paying jobs. So most ppl work in a fast food and rely on that salary to live on which google estamated a little over 38000 dollars a year at 19 dollars an hr. That is in Ohio btw.

@ yes 😭 I haven’t been “officially” diagnosed but there is no way I don’t have it lol. I always get decaf or I get shaky from the regular espresso. Here is what happens to people with adhd when they consume caffeine: (Via google lol) “Feeling tired after consuming caffeine with ADHD is not uncommon, and can be due to a paradoxical effect where caffeine interacts with brain chemistry differently in people with ADHD, sometimes causing drowsiness instead of alertness; this can be related to individual variations in neurotransmitters and how caffeine affects them, leading to a potential "crash" after the initial stimulation wears off” So many other things can be symptoms of adhd too, the list is very long. Hang in there ❤️
