hi richard i make all my shafts with a m6 thread like you said the rest is easy the washers very important too the pumps dont need no liquid just wet sand

Hi dave justmaking a nylon washer for the end of my pump what size cutter do you use to cut it out i used a 22mm cutter but the washer is to small for the tee piece and falls through

Hi Dave i use a 25mm hole cutter with a 9mm drill bit slots straight in good luck

Hi dave made an nylon washer as you said 25mm hole with a 9mm hole when it is in the tee piece fits perfectly just seems a bit loose when I screw the nut back on there's a bit of play so just put a 25mm washer on so it's now tight as can be thanks dave

Hi because i don't have a tap and dye set ive got a friend that welds a m6 bolt on the end then grind the weld down to size of the shaft bit of cheating

In your opinion what diameter pipe is the best 22mm or 28mm, I'm going to make one and have 28mm pipe so is it worth me getting 22mm instead 😊

Hi I have always used 22mm but tried a 28 a few days ago trying to help someone with their pump it just felt so hard with the extra sand You are trying to suck up so for me 22mm all day long

@martinbeynon5897 good luck with the pump build but the silicone washer is the most important part of the pump I make mine with no nonsense 820 silicone from Screwfix this stuff is awesome

A beginner question for you, can you pump bait when it’s raining?

Hi yes you can but its a lot harder as the sand coils get washed away but you can still see where the cast was as soon as the rain stops the pop straight back up
