Building a model X-WING! - Star Wars

Let's build Luke Skywalker's X-wing from Star Wars!
The T-65 was the primary fighter used by the Alliance in the Galactic Civil War and was the craft (piloted by Luke Skywalker) which destroyed the Death Star. Revell 1/112 scale kit
Revell provided me with this kit for free, however they have not paid me or told me what to do or say. My opinions are honest and my own.

Great video! If revel doesn’t work for you I’d highly suggest trying out Bandai’s Star Wars kits! I’ve built three of them myself and I haven’t had any complaints. They also include a detailed display stand.

I was surprised how well the hull looked after the wash considering you hadn't painted it. I'm just getting back into modelling and have my hands full with the few kits I bought to practice with. I'd love to try my hand at building a Y-Wing at some point however. The overworked, undervalued workhorse of the Alliance fleet :).

Very nice build, and the weathering looks spot on. I've been following your channel for a while now, since returning to the hobby after a long break, and I'm currently just finishing off my 5th model - an Airfix 1/72 Hawker Hurricane Mk.I. I tried your method of painting the canopy and cleaning it up with a sharpened sprue (I used a cocktail stick) and it worked a treat, thanks! Best wishes to you, and Kendal ❤️

Its a nice little kit and i agree it really needs a stand. I got round that by using an Airfix dual stand and mounting it with Vader's Tie fighter chasing it, also changed it to Red 3 (Biggs) so didn't have any decal problems as I painted all the markings and droid (a lot of good reference pictures online for Red 3 as that screen model is one of the survivors)

I see the force is strong with this one! You did a really great job on this and I like the dark grey wash on the panel lines. The X Wing fighters always had a grungy and worn look to them and I think you accomplished this very well with this kit. Thanks for sharing this.

I would! I'd recommend the TIE Advanced over this X-wing though - the decals are a bit tricky on this. Check out Kendall's build of the TIE.

(This is a funny story) so i made my minicraft 1:144 B-24H/J Liberator (video on my channel) but there was a propeller missing, so i contacted the store that i bought it from and they Said they where going to send a extra propeller. And today, i recieved a box in my mail, and it turned out that they sended a entire new kit for free! So i will make a new Liberator and i would like to know wich one people would want me to make? Quick Kits yeah. I would also recommend getting an airbrush to paint to with if you ever did get it. That way you could do paint modulation and other effects.

+Alex Halsall acrylic - faster drying, doesn't smell as bad and easier brush clean up. However, large areas and blending effects are easier done with enamels

If you want an X-Wing worthy of the name Star Wars then look no further than Bandai's Star Wars line. If you are familiar with Gunpla then building the X Wing will leave you speechless. Not trying to hype it up any further, but the difference between Revell, and Bandai is Night and Day. Although I will say what Revell did to try and limit Bandais Star Wars line in the U.S.A was stupid and shady at best, but that story is for another time.
