I have a very basic question -- do external users have access to search bar across the top of the page that internal users do? If not, how do I allow them to benefit from searching across multiple comm/hub sites at one time?
@ChorusCo3 жыл бұрын
Hi Rebekah, excellent question! Guest users do have access to the search bar if they are members of the site. Just like internal users, search results for external users are security trimmed - i.e. you’ll only see search results from sites and content that you have access to. We hope that helps :)

Thank you for the video! I do have some questions though. Could you please explain how to remove the "Recycle bin" from the site navigation? I am struggling to remove it and the only option I could find is by enabling SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure through Site Collection Features, but this will remove the horizontal navigation experience instead. The second thing is that your site header also looks fantastic with those extra links above the navigation followed by the crayon image as well. Could you also please explain on how to apply this as well? I would appreciate it very much
@ChorusCo Жыл бұрын
Hello - we are sorry for missing this comment and questions! Here is our (very delayed) reply and answers: If you’re seeing Recycle bin on the navigation, you’ve probably got a team site rather than a communication site which will give you vertical rather than horizontal site navigation. Regardless, there should be an Edit link at the end of the navigation which will enable you to remove the Recycle bin navigation item. The extra links above the navigation come from promoting the site to be a hub site. The crayon image was just a personal theme in Microsoft 365 and that’s something that Microsoft have moved away from. Please don’t enable publishing features on modern SharePoint sites, they’re a legacy capability aimed at classic sites and they can cause problems on modern sites.
