Someday in the future, someone will be doing the same thing as you did to the house and they will be saying. Wow the previous owners were very silly they used millions of nails to hammer in the walls and the ceiling

Y’all may get on this kid for many things , but thank god he didn’t sand his floors with one of those rent -a-buffers . He used a real sander . I cringe when people say they “refinished” their floors and all they did was tickle it with one of those silly rented machines . Kudos from the daughter of a floor sander 🙌🏼

Should have put down plywood on top of the subfloor. I have boards for subfloor and they squeak every bad. I think gluing and putting down plywood or OSB board would help strengthen the floor but also provide stability over time. It would lock in all the other boards and hopefully prevent squeaking (many years down the road).

When you choose to have the same floor in the different rooms, it's a pity you didn't put it in all the same direction. That should bother me if it was like that in my house.

Did you stain the floors yourself? I see you hired people for the sealant. Also, how long did it take you to sand and refinish the floors. Thanks!

I don't know anything about flooring so I was wondering how the people were standing/walking on the same section they just finished sealing? Does that not affect the sealing?

Great work. I liked that old hardwood style though, but probably does not go with the new theme. When the guy who used 10 boxes of screws for dry walling a single room complains about your nail count, you know you done screwed up. LOL

Just started watching your videos, but I noticed the glue holding down the flooring. Just as a heads up since your house was built in the 50s that is more than likely black mastic made with asbestos. Don't want to freak you out at all, but I thought you should be aware that that is a possibility

You put the cabinets in before the floor. You shouldn't have done that. You have a raised cabinet set that shows the flooring underneath you need the flooring finished before that was installed.

My subflooring in the bathroom LITERALLY turned into toothpicks as we stripped it, nails ONE INCH apart, because tile was installed on top of it with a mortar base

I think people need to remember that um... it's? His? House? And he and his family are living there? And they are making it how they want. I don't think people realize that they don't have to live in this house, the family how renovated it does.

difference between US & Scandinavia: dark wood stain :-). Not entirely true, and probably driven by the very dark winters we have, wanting as light reflective surfaces as possible...

i hate to say this ...BUT... your kitchen is IDENTICAL to a hugely expensive(at the time) holiday cottage we owned in the late 90s! Every single choice is exactly the same product - no update with a current twist , and i doubt that was the intention ye had. STOP listening to your wife - she is building a dream with a past unrequited love.
