Building A NH34 GMT "Pepsi" Watch

Were building an homage to one of the most iconic watches in the world, the Rolex GMT Master II "Pepsi". This homage is build around a Seiko NH34 movement and features a back enamel dial with parody subscript as well as the classic red and blue ceramic bezel insert. With these parts and some slight modifications the end result is nothing short of stunning. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for this video. I have a PD-1662 pepsi with the DG5833 movement and after a year, of sitting on my desk and giving it a shake now and then, the stem will not screw back in all the way and it does not run but a few seconds after giving it a good shake. So I ordered a NH34A movement and hope to get it in a few days.

@rodgilbert894 thank you for checking out the video glad you liked it. I actually had the same Pagani Designs "Pepsi" for awhile before giving it to a friend of mine. Though the NH34A is a superior and more user friendly movement then the DG8533 you may run into issues trying to directly swap the movement into the case. The dial orientation and hand size will be different from the DG to the NH and the case and movement holder will be specific to holding the DG movement in place. I commend you for wanting to do the swap yourself and if you do run into issues please feel free to reach out to me and I'm more then happy to help troubleshoot. Thank you again for your support.

Thank you for your kind words! Unfortunately I haven't been able to use a 9075 in any builds. To my knowledge those movements have been reserved for a few select brands to use and aren't available to the general public just yet. I'd be interested to do a build with one in the future and compare the "True" GMT of the Miyota to the "Caller" GMT of the Seiko.

At the time of this build the bezel insert was slightly over one hundred USD. Prices often fluctuate but I would assume it will still be around that price point. If you find one for significantly lower chances are it will be an aluminum insert, or in some cases a combination of both aluminum and ceramic. After unscrewing the crown from the crown tube the watch is considered to be in the 0 position which is used for winding the mainspring. Pulling the crown one click out puts it in the 1st position used for date and GMT hand adjustment. Pulling the crown out one more time will put the crown in the 2nd position, its final position, which is used for adjusting the time. I have a Parnis GMT with DG3804 movement that is awful. Do you know if the movement can be replaced with NH34?

Hey man thank you for checking out the channel. Unfortunately I can’t say with confidence that a NH34 will fit into that case. Sometimes sellers will make one case and use a variety of movement holders to accommodate different movements but I can’t say for sure this Parnis case is like that. One additional thing to consider is that the dial and hands won’t fit the NH34 movement. I’m sorry I couldn’t be more helpful. Please feel free to reach out with any other questions. Ebay and Secondhandmods.com are also great places to find slightly used parts at a discount if you are looking to get into the hobby. How do you cut the dial feet?

@chrisburton Thank you for checking out the video. To cut the dial feet I use a nipper tool. Really any kind of cutters should work. I like the nipper tool because its flat on the backside so I can get right up against the dial for a nice flush cut eliminating the need for a lot of filing. Need to fix Focus

For some reason the camera really liked to focus on my fingers rather then the watch parts and I didn't realize until after the video was being edited.
