Very nice build. The pocket holes were a perfect choice and do not detract from the clean lines of the design.

Thanks Tom P. Pocket holes screws are my favorite thing to use for projects like this. They are so easy to use and make a strong connection. Thanks for the comment!

More or less exactly what I want to build for my own space, with a few tweaks. Unfortunately I have zero experience, and exactly as many tools. Will likely settle on a narrow wooden console table as a makeshift stand, but that won't have the fold down top unfortunately. Anyway, nice job.

I found you recently from your video about making money from wood working. My current plan is to make a few things, tables and the such, and sell them on cregs list/ FB marketplace. Similar to what you where talking about. Do you have any thoughts or recommendations on someone starting out on this adventure?
@chaddiy35124 жыл бұрын
Hello! It sounds like you have a decent plan. I started by building stuff that would work in my house just in case it didn't sell. I also started by selling things pretty cheap. It helped me build momentum and then I just raised my prices until things stopped selling quickly. Then i kind of knew what was the most I could sell things for. I finally settled on one item that I could make the best profit from, and also build quickly. Rinse and repeat. Good luck!

@@chaddiy3512 Sounds good to me! up until now I have been using a basic jack plane for cleaning up boards and just purchased online a dewalt thickness planer. I bought it with 1 goal in mind. Make enough money to make the device net positive. If I can do that, i'm golden.

This is a really nice looking build, and very straightforward for a beginner project! I don't know much about woodworking, but how stable has this been for you? I am surprised that you didn't include any kind of cross support to prevent wobbling, but maybe that's because I'm just used to more cheaply made stuff that isn't as secure as the legs you made here!

Hello Aaron, this has been rock solid for me. I was a little worried that it would not be deep enough and wobble a bit, but no worries now!

Thanks for the video, Chad. Just finished building this for my wife for Christmas, and we were both very happy with how it turned out. One thing I wish I'd done differently is leave the glue off a few of the joints so I could partially disassemble it (like if we ever move, etc.). But, not a big deal since it's a pretty small, lightweight stand. And I should add, it really is impressively sturdy, as you've mentioned. No issues with the weight of our keyboard. Thanks again for the video, couldn't have done it without you.

EXCELLENT stand! I've been looking at getting a new DP, and decided the "furniture" stands they sell with them are not that attractive - and a Z stand is even worse. Your stand is beautiful, and appears to be something I, as a beginning woodworker as well, could probably pull off. Thanks!
